I heard about that, but what I understood it was only a rumor and not confirmed by scientists. Still if it does happen in my lifetime it would be pretty cool to see.

Man, if I could see something like this happen, I would feel just flattered being alive and being a person that saw this.

No doubt it's going to talked about as 'proof of God' by religious nutters.

Pretty sure the force of a supernova that close to our planet would pretty much fuck up our magnetic field and strip away our atmosphere, not to mention shower us with so much cosmic radiation (not xrays) that it would end all life on the planet outside of very hardy bacteria.
