Quote from: SockpuppetClock;1783498...why would it be 2 hours?? Not even Episode 1 was that short.

If anything, it will be called Episode 3, but have the length of what basically would make the game Half-Life 3.

Yeah, this, because at this point they'd have to use the name "Half-Life 2: Episode 3" considering that's what people are expecting.

NintendrCkolc

ok lets quit talking about fucking half-life.

Here's another interesting article
How Duke Nukem Forever was brought back from the brink

RobClock

Kinda disappointed by the lack of anything from the Gearbox panel arising. NEVERMIND, IT'S JUST STARTING.
From the gearbox twitterpage:

Panelists - Randy Pitchford, Brian Martel, Mikey Neumann, Brian Thomas, and David Eddings

With those names, i'm thinking that Duke news may be in abundance.

RobClock

Oh, and here's an interview with Randy Pitchford.

Gearbox OFFICIALLY owns the Duke Nukem IP.

I could not be happier. alot of former 3DR employees are with gearbox and working on the DNF project again and to see the series continued with the people who care about it makes me unbelievably happy.

EDIT:
QuotePitchford made a point to say that Alan Blum, the creator of the Duke  Nukem franchise, is now with Gearbox. "He's on the 10th floor with his  team," he said. He also wanted to explain that this franchise couldn't  simply have been purchased by anyone. "I didn't buy it from [3D  Realms]," Pitchford said. "They sold it to me." In the press release, 3D  Realms' Scott Miller said, "Gearbox was handpicked as the new home for Duke Nukem because of their continued passion, commitment and long-time heritage with the brand and 3D Realms."

Rob's avatar gives me a boner everytime I see it.

When I first heard about the game I quickly went to 3drealms.com to check the forums, Turns out the DNF board has been officially closed at 3DR's main website. Made me kinda sad at first but then I noticed Joe Siegler, previous community manager at 3DR, was now at Gearbox and is supervising the community on their forums.

It's really really awesome that a lot of the main people who started the game are finishing it. Say what you want about 3DR but at least they're committed.

In Serious Sam 2 you could find Duke's dead corpse hanging from a tree (in much the same way you could find the doom marine's corpse in Duke Nukem 3D) meaning that in the continuity of Serious Sam, Duke Nukem is dead. And that's simply ignoring the fact that Serious Sam is a huge parody of Duke Nukem and making a crossover between the two is a bad idea.
