Need artists for new CC game.

Genre: Negotiable, but probably not a platformer (too many indie platformers lately, plus I've got a design of my own for one brewing in my head)

Platforms: Flash, possibly other platforms later. I can make games for any platform that doesn't require a devkit.

Release date: no fixed deadline, but probably at least a year depending on size of the project and me juggling this with other personal projects/school/work

Compensation: (revenue minus expenses minus contribution to cc fund) / (# of collaborators) ...don't expect much... goal is not to make money but to make something fun and cool that promotes the CC

Experience: Know how to use flash, be able to make spritesheets if we branch out to new platforms (and be willing to do the work to convert it...a lot of frame by frame animation will mean a lot of extra work, fyi), have some talent and developed a style, be able to stay motivated and finish the project

I had a lot of fun working with Munglai and Tritoch on games back in the day, and frankly, I miss getting on AIM and chatting about the design of the game and passing things back and forth to critique each other watching the game grow organically out of that process.

I've been a bit of a creative recluse since going back to school, and I want to fight that. I can make good games, but my art sucks and I have to trick people into actually playing the game before they realize the game is a lot of fun. I'd like to change that. I'd like to make something similar to Super Meat Boy or Limbo or Braid or Alien Hominid visually (obviously on a much much smaller scale; we aren't doing this full-time for a company like they are).

So yeah, anyone interested? I haven't been around the CC a lot lately so I'm not really sure what everyone's capable of. Post some samples, whatever. I'd be willing to collaborate with more than 1 person this time too, if the styles are similar. If someone has some coding experience and would like to help out, that would be cool too... would hopefully save me time and I could help you learn in the process.

And to everyone else: anything in particular you'd like to see for a new CC game?

DWARFINATORclock

I'm interested, if you like my styles.

StoopidClock

i think i'm down if you remember who i am :P

AC Slater

I'd be down. If you need any music I could do that for you too.

I'd be down for either artwork/music/voice-acting.

EDIT::
And character design.  I loooove to do character design.

I'd be down with art, I'll edit this post with examples later.

EDIT: Here's a game I made pretty recently: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/533799

Here's a clock game I'm working on right now, so the art is pretty recent: http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/c119aa4514ed838e3387fad9c6b3a360

Another game WIP with more realistic graphics: http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/7a8e3bd01a0bead01b1658770bebb7ba

Dwarfinator has all sorts of styles I likes. I think the world needs more of your art and epic stories in game form.

Satellite, do you really need me? Looks like you're doing pretty well on your own :) I do like your art and think we could work well together though, plus it should mean less work since you'd have a better understanding of what I'd need already.

What sort of projects did you guys have in mind?

AmberArachnidClock

to be honest I'm still struggling with game design and actionscript and it's less that I need you, more that I want to make some graphics without having to worry about the code. Also maybe I could glean some tips from you in the process :D

SageClock

Could I see some samples from those I haven't mentioned yet. I've seen your work, just probably not your most recent or most representative.

Also FYI, part of the decision is going to be based on how well I think I'll get along with the person, based on previous interactions. If we haven't really talked, though, I still might be able to be convinced otherwise.

I expect, at minimum, a dozen homemade chocolate chip cookies delivered to me at precisely 3:07pm every other Thursday by a man on horseback, though, in order to be chosen over someone I know well :).

You can get tips from me regardless. You just need to ask :).

I definitely understand you, though. I can do art as well (to a certain extent), I just prefer not to have to worry about it. I usually don't have any choice but to do my own art for my more abstract game designs, though, since it's not interesting enough work for artists to work without being paid upfront.

Proximity 2 was all me and I think it looks pretty slick, although that's mostly thanks to all the work I put into the GUI transitions and animations, which were all programmed.

Damn, Satellite! I'm lovin' those games!

I don't think we've talked too much before, but I'll chat with ya some time soon and we can work on character design and stuff like that.

Aw man, I thought we were friends on facebook. :(

SageClock

hehe! a bit offtopic, but it's really hard to keep track of who is who in the CC on facebook, only having your real names on there. only way i can tell you guys are in the CC is in the friends request when i see the list of mutual friends, who i also don't know as anything other than "the CC group".

it's not like you guys usually post under your real names here (a few people do). it's cool though. that's what the internets is for, to pick a badass clock name to go by instead of the boring one your parents decided to give you.

hell. no.

Anything with MMO in it automatically means it will never be completed (unless you're a company with $100s of millions to burn). Pipe dream, buddy. Would be cool, though.

Thor

I'll do the art, but I'll only work in MSpaint, and I need unlimited time for each drawing, and I'll only draw horses

do you accept my terms?
Quote from: MafiaMettaurWhat the hell is with that shit you posted? You know what, I'm joining the Locks, just to stop stuff like you!
Quote from: polyhedronclockYou're a fucking clock, what else do you have?
To be fair, you don't have anything. Clocks are just machines that tick.
