Also, I pretty much agree with this guy, but I live right next to Smith College, so I may be a little biased. Either way, if you're dealing with gender politics and you're looking to gain one side leverage over the other rather than equalizing things, you're being dishonest and petty. Men's rights issues shouldn't be dismissed the way they are, and I don't think we should ignore issues that are particular to women either.

TheAmazingAtheist dated a 14-year-old girl when he was 23. He a horrible human being all around from what I see, including that video you posted.

Just watched the whole thing. For the first minute, everything this guy said was true. And then he suddenly turned into an idiot. He started off by saying things that any rational person would agree with, to get his audience on his side, and then his comments started being completely baseless. By this point, his audience was used to agreeing with whatever he said, so they just keep agreeing with him even though he stops using any sort of logic about halfway through. We get to the end of the video, he knows that he has the audience in his grasp, so he just ends it with an advertisement for this book. Presumably, his book is just as nonsensical as he is, but his brainwashed fans will go ahead and buy it anyway.

Here is his argument:
Premise 1: Women are laughing at the idea of castration
Premise 2: Women can get away with murder by claiming that they have been abused.
Conclusion: Feminism is bullshit.

Do you see the problem here? His argument is invalid. The premises to not prove the conclusion. Yes, some women are heartless bitches, but that in no way invalidates all of feminism. Believe it or not, feminism is very important. Women have been subjugated by men for thousands of years, and it is only in the last hundred years that they have started to be treated somewhat as equals. Unfortunately, change happens slowly, and society is still patriarchal to an extent. Without feminists, there is no way this is going to change any time soon. Too denounce all of feminism because there are stupid women who do stupid things is ridiculous. After all, men can be pretty stupid too.
Now that I have shown that his argument is invalid, I have no reason to attack his premises. But I'm going to anyway, because his premises are bullshit too. Yes, those women were laughing at castration. But that does not mean that they were advocating it. At 5:08 he shows a clip where the woman actually admits that they are being sexist, but then they just laugh it off. I think this shows that they aren't taking this very seriously. Which is perfectly fine: lots of people have a morbid sense of humour. I remember the Clock Crew making jokes about a woman who microwaved her baby. Does that mean that the Clock Crew advocates such a thing? No, it simply means that many members of the Clock Crew have a morbid and juvenile sense of humour. Anyone who has been on the internet should realize that this is not uncommon.
As for Premise 2, well that one actually makes more sense. I agree that, legally, that is unfortunate. I happen to consider this a 'necessary evil' of feminism. For a while, women will be able to get away with insane stuff. But perfect equality is something that is hard to reach, so it should be expected that women will have the advantage over men in some situations, while men will continue to have the advantage over women in other situations, until in about a hundred years or so everything slowly balances itself out.
At one point, the guy makes a comment along the lines of "hey, I bet if we mutilated a woman, we wouldn't be allowed to call it empowering. How unfair is that?" Well, I don't see why he thinks men need empowering. Men have dominated women for thousands of years. I think we have had more than our fair share of empowerment. Why isn't he willing to let women experience a bit of that for once?

Sorry for the rant, but this youtube guy is so stupid, and there are so many people who agree with him, it just makes me a little worried. Look at the amount of 'likes' and the amount of 'dislikes'. The fact that so many people actually agree with this guy, when he is so wrong, it is just kind of depressing a bit.

On a less preaching note, if AlClock was represented by Al from Quantum Leap, then he would instantly be my new favourite clock.

Although I don't like the guy's aggressive tone, he has a strong and valid point.

I gave him Al because he picked some name that was already taken, and I figured it'd be easy to remember.

Any valid points this guy has is cancelled out by the fact he's kinda an angry loudmouth.

I do agree with most of the people in the thread that this guy has a moderately annoying tone. I Shouldn't have been so vague by making a thread title generalizing femminism to be linked to this video. And MentosClock, your rant seems very reasonable. I am starting to think that this wasn't the place to discuss things of this nature.
