What are you playing right now?

Currently I'm playing Luigi's Mansion 3, and it took me by surprise really. Its better than Luigi's Mansion 2, which isn't that hard, I really liked that game but felt it was a bit messy and sloppy in some areas, maybe a little too focussed on not falling into the same issue as Luigi's Mansion 1 of being too short, though at the same time becoming a drawn-out, sub-par game, rather than a short, but fantastic game like Luigi's Mansion 1. I think I might actually like 3 more than 1, but I'd have to finish it. Though so far, its all there. Fun Boo-Hunting, fantastic atmosphere, this class ranking system that envelopes the whole game, and the return of Gems is super fucking cool too. The combat takes a backseat, but it's still really really fun. I'll probably 100% this, its so much fun so far.

I've also been playing FNaF: UCN. I've always liked the FNaF games despite all the shit they get, but UCN is really fucking cool. It basically takes every character from FNaF 1, 2, 3, 4, SL, and Pizzeria Simulator, AND a few extra ones, puts them all into one game, and lets you create custom nights from it, or play the preset challenge nights. There is 59 characters in this game. The game focusses less on being scary and more on the gameplay, which is greatly in its benefit. The gameplay is MAD, theres lads in the ducts, weird timing mechanics, lads that get activated by noise, ghosts and shit that'll appear in your office, sound cues that play either left or right, telling you which door to close with only a fraction of a second to react, vent crawlers that have their own seals to be placed, audio lures you can use in the ducts, a mask you can wear to scare off animatronics, a heat mechanic that might cause some animatronics to deactivate, but will cause others to move faster, a music box to wind, that has different selections you have to use so that one of them doesn't get bored of the music, theres one that sits infront of you and if you stare at him you die, it is seriously, INSANE, and it's so much fun. If your computer can run it I'd give it a shot, it's free too. https://gamejolt.com/games/UltimateCN/349545

How about you, CC lads?

FLOUNDERMAN_CLOCK

just started spyro remastered. I was playing sekiro but I need a breather. the hirata estate owl fight is brutal. I thought the first fight with him was hard but at least there he's all gimmicks you can learn to counter. here it's all raw skill. I'l beat it eventually though. no way in hell I'm not finishing that game and getting the best ending. for now I'm gonna be a purple dragon and dash around burning the wildlife.

That game is unreal, 100%'d the full thing on PS4. You'll really like that, I think Octopus played it too. Great design, great controls, and a shit load of stuff to do.

The game has so many graphics you would not even believe.

Also, I only played the first one on my PSP before Reignited, so maybe I'm biased, but all the differences I've seen in Reignited are pretty slick.

PhantomCatClock

I started playing Jak 2 recently, its something I've owned for ages but never really played. I loved the first Jak but I was always reluctant to play 2 because of how different it is. I started a game there a week and its really cool. I think the open world is kind of shit, its just cars and guards, with some Precursor collectibles thrown in. It feels forced in there because of how popular the GTA games were when this came out in 2003. Gameplay wise its the weirdest, because the game in terms of style, visuals, tone, and narrative, could not be more different, but the gameplay stays the same. I really like that, it makes it unique, being a game about overthrowing a authoritarian dictatorship, but also being a 3D platformer like Spyro or Mario, its fucking bizzare lol. It also controls really well holy fuck. good shit

Been doing a bit of Animal Crossing lately

Mania was good sure, but it bored the fuck out of me. I'm ashamed to admit I played more Forces than Mania lol. Mania just felt like a rehash of old stages, which is infuriating, because the new ones like Press Garden and Studiopolis were amazing. If they had just done new zones for the whole thing I would of liked it way more.

the art book it came with was cool tho

Bouncing back and forth between these 3 currently.

FFVII Remake: Only about 15 hours in, enjoying it so far. Kinda tired of the JRPG genre as a whole though. Game plays identically to Lost Odyssey, FFXIII, FFX, etc etc. Hallway, some encounters, boss battle, cutscene, repeat. That loop is enjoyable but I've done it so much in the past that it just feels tired. The overall appeal in the game comes from recognizable locations, music, characters, and to some extent the cutscenes. Nomura has fucked the story up a bit and retconned some things but nothing so far has pissed me off to the point of hating the game as it has with some others..

CoD: MW: Easily the best CoD in years. Even if you don't like CoD (which was me for years following Black Ops) this one is worth checking out. They really nailed it this year and I've been kind of caught off guard with how much fun I'm having playing with friends. Good game to listen to podcasts or some music and just kinda zone out and play. The battle royale, WARZONE, has been a fantastic addition and genuinely feels unique enough compared to its competition to have some lasting appeal.

DOOM Eternal: Game of the year. Soundtrack of the year. A game for manly men with big testicles. If you can't get through nightmare you're a loser and don't deserve to play video games.

-yakuza kiwami
getting back into this. it's a decent story with entertaining sidequests and decent gameplay but majima carries this entire thing for me.

I relate to this guy on a deep spiritual level. I might not have gotten as far as I am if he wasn't involved. after I beat this I might play zero just for more majima. I mean look at this. the man is a treasure.

-symphony of the night
it's been a while since I've played a castlevania game. so far I like aria of sorrow better as far as the open castlevanias go, but this is still really good. and I loved rondo of blood so I had to see where the story goes. anyways I just got the power to turn into a dog and bark at people. that's literally all it does. 10/10 powerup.

-dark souls 2
doing a second run respec'd to magic since I've always just done full melee with some pyromancy in dark souls. barely a few months since beating it and I already forgot how much a slog the levels were, I might not finish. new game plus adds in more gank squads too. magic is honestly kinda underpowered, half the time I'm just using a magic version of the guts sword anyways. adding crystals to it is neat though. and if you get the gank squads in a narrow coordidoor you can soul spear/geyser their stupid asses and kill em all at once. the pursuer is a joke at long range too. still, I might respec to something else if I continue.  also why doesn't this game have rapport like 1 and 3 have? turning enemies against each other is hilarious.

-that pac man game that's free on ps4 and steam right now
I didn't think they could add much toi the pac man formula but they did. aparently this one isn't as good as the last one, but I enjoyed messing around with it long enough to unlock the other modes.

I gotta go back and finish the spyro and crash trilogies after sotn and yakuza. been meaning to play liar princess and the blind prince and luminous avenger as well. they sound short enough to knock out both in a a day so I might as well.

I've been fuckin around with my PS3 for a little while now. Mainly playing Gran Turismo 6, holy shit, I didn't think I would like that game by the look of it, but it's so much fun. The driving feels so good, the customization is crazy, and theres so much to do. I know you're supposed to play it more carefully and realistically, but I tend to play it more like Burnout Dominator, or Need For Speed Most Wanted lmao. I just completely smash into people, or my favourite trick is to cut a corner super tight, and then correct your turn by crashing into someone, which will stop you enough so you can steer around lol, it's hard to do, but its so good when it works out.

I've also been playing Sonic Generations, a game which I played the absolute shit out of when it first came out, and I haven't really touched it since. It definitely controls better than Sonic Forces, and has way better stage design and variety, but I think the controls are still really bad. The game certainly doesn't overstay it's welcome though, it's like 18 stages and a few bosses, you can beat it in a few hours. The PS3 version of it is surprisingly good, I guess they got better at making PS3 multiplats as time went on.

On that note, I'm tryna fix my PS3 rn. It works 100%, disc drive works, controllers work, but the wireless antennae has either came loose, or just melted. It can't connect to the internet without an ethernet cable, and it can't connect to the controller without my handy dandy 10ft mini usb cable lmfao. I've heard it's a pain in the cunt to open the thing and fix the antennae, but I'm gonnae try. When ye unscrew it, it's all going well, but then theres these 4 screws at the front called T8 Security Screws, which are a fucking nightmare. They're a star shape with a dot in the middle, and ye need a special screwdriver to get it open. I tried to use a bank card for it, because you can wedge it in there and turn the screw, but I don't wannae wear it down for fear of fucking myself over and never being able to open it. I was considering just saying fuck it, and getting a new PS3, but not only is that WAY more expensive than I would of thought (seriously, I thought these things would be worthless by now), but also I don't wanna throw out my old one, I've had it for the better part of a decade. I ordered the SPECIAL SCREWDRIVER to open the fucking thing but its from CHINA and it'll probably take like 2 weeks to get here. FUCK. FUCK.

PS3 repair is hard. Probably easier than programming for it's I'm a edgy teen Cell processor lmfao. I think that's why so many PS3 ports are so shit. Like some are pretty decent, like MGSV:GZ and as I mentioned earlier Need For Speed Most Wanted, but some of the earlier ones, like Sonic Unleashed and Bayonetta, or even not so early ones like Skyrim run like total shit, like Skyrim will just freeze up for 2 seconds some times, its awful lol.
