this year, though, I know I've heard this before, but now that I've actually listened to it, it's the most trite horseshit

right up there with kids shows that will add the word "today" to the end of any sentence to make it rhyme when it was a complete sentence without it. or was it "for me"? one of those used to piss me off

I think the worst thing about this song is probably still the song itself, because it might be 'fun to sing' but it absolutely overstays its welcome when you don't have a choice but to listen to it. you spend the last 8 days of Christmas wishing they'd hurry up

no, indeed, the second worst thing about this song is that despite being "from LA" (and yes her dad's famous), Inara George applies a weird nonstandard pronunciation to practically every word, which you then hear every time it's repeated. "Partr(ih)dge" becomes "partr(eh)dge." Five Golden Rangs. Something about Fren Chens.

my brain kept mishearing the epic slow movie trailer version of the world 1-1 theme as a messed up version of "(How Much is) That Doggie in the Window"

particularly the first three notes
the effect was so strong that I thought that they might have actually transposed it wrong, and that that was what was making me mishear it

I don't know much about music but I decided to dig into it, starting with looking up the sheet music for both songs and finding that sequence of three notes, and
