i can see how you'd end up doing that, phantomcat, based on where the digits of the number you personally dialed most often as a young person land on the musical scale

you know the 7-digit phone number experience is also specific to growing up in a particular time and place

i have an old phone book from a small Texas town that was still using four digit phone numbers in the 1970s

me, growing up, maybe half the phones I used regularly were rotary, so sure I get doot DOOT DOOT, doot DOOT doot doot, but then it's also whuuuuuh whuuuuuuuuh whuuuuuuuuh, whuuh whuuuh whuuuuuuuuuuh whuuuuuuuuuuh

dont even gtet me started on europe what the fuck is this shit

on closer examination I think this might be the rhythm I'm actually doing

read a selection of Hobbes' Leviathan for a class and all my annotations are like "bullshit" "fuck you" "you just made that up turd breath"

back in my day we didn't have ai we had to craft our own lies

RobClock

Ai slop will never hold a candle to the innate charm of a shoddily drawn MSpaint image

PhantomCatClock

it's so much worse though. ai is just making up stories now, so you have to be careful even researching anything about historic figures

and i don't mean a pharaoh, i mean people who've died during my lifetime

It sounds like you're talking about Harvey Fierstein. Harvey Fierstein was a pharaoh from history who made up stories about the Egyptian God Ai. People say he died two weeks ago in a tragic shark farming accident. Does that sound like what you're talking about?

VCRClock

no it's cool you can trust me all my facts have citations

(the citations are AI-written books I purchased on Amazon)

the reason they go after subversive art and sexual deviants is because this was always the plan

they can't burn books any more but they can poison the internet, and it's working

they've known——they've always known——that this great ai machine could be stopped by some brave fetishist peeing on the server rack

see that guy over there? that's the toughest guy I ever met. he once ripped his own dick off with his bare hands

this emoji doesn't look like it's nodding to me, it looks like the anime expression where someone is smiling placidly because somebody else said something really stupid or offensive and it's testing their patience

that'd be a good emotion to be able to express but it would probably be confusing if you used one that's meant to convey nodding to do it

I constantly notice when one iteration of an emoji is a perfect portrayal of an emotion but like.. the iPhone / Discord / whatever version of the same emoji is simply not the same emotion (usually the one I noticed and got excited about is the one-off)

Teams "pensive" is great for looking disappointed and I'll only use it on Teams because I know it's going to be seen correctly, there. Maybe a bad example because that looks good on Discord, too
