there's a water cooler at work that has two like taps and one is white and one is light blue. they dispense different temperatures of water, white is "cold" and light blue is "colder". i have issues with this because most often i want colder water and if i stop to think at the water cooler then i'll take the wrong water because of this color scheme: light blue being colder makes sense in the sense that it's probably meant to evoke ice, but i always go for white because first of all that also evokes snow, and second of all i'll think something along the lines of "white must be a cooler color because it's just the light blue with more white added to it" right?

i don't think i'll ever have trouble remembering them after writing a paragraph about them like this so i don't need help anymore but i meant to ask since you are artists is white a cooler color than light blue? some say white is not a color,

They're a Brit synth pop band. I've only listened to the three albums of theirs I own, so I'm no expert, but they're typically fronted by the two female vocalists. My ex annoyingly called it "bored girl music" because they usually sing with a light, breathy tone. They've opened for Nine Inch Nails and Bjork. The three albums of theirs that I love are 604, Light and Magic, and Witching Hour. If you recognized any songs of theirs, it would probably be "Playboy," "Blue Jeans," "Soft Power," or maybe "Seventeen." I like them but I gotta get more of their stuff.

back in high school I liked destroy everything you touch quite a bit. never got around to listening to the rest of the album but that song was in my rotation for a while. I liked their remix on the year zero remix album too.

i saw ladytron a fair few times about twenty years ago. middle bill on the second or third stage of british festivals with like dresden dolls, hot chip, test-icicles, does it offend you yeah? and all the other art school shit. i liked them.

seventeen and destroy everything you touch are the songs that 'broke through' in the UK, but even still, not by much.

Just admiring this.

But could its clever cutesy charm be appropriated as transphobic kitsch??? Sorry, it must be sealed and buried until society is fixed, and you with it.

actually, internet, i was hoping it was implied that i was asking what a traveler's notebook was with the expectation that it'd be explained by someone who wasn't trying to sell one to me

can i be curious

hey it's a notebook like a traveler might use. prolly pretty small so you can travel w/it. maybe a leather cover, travelers like that shit.

<Marlin Clock> This thread seems proof positive that divisiveness at any level is usually bad for the Clock Crew.
<PhantomCatClock> are we talking about the same clock crew

Speaking of, anyone play D&D and have a recommendation for a good notebook to use as a player? I'm playing for the first time ever next week and I'm overwhelmed by the variety of notebooks online. Most of them just look like journals, but I was hoping for something with, like, a notes section, slots for spell cards, etc. I could just buy a binder and make my own, but I figured there would be something out there made specifically for that. Stupid Google is either like "here is a list of just regular notebooks" or "here are very specific, handcrafted tomes that people have created over a twenty year campaign."

you are completely correct, white is colder. it's snow! water is blue. it's math.

Slurpee

I didn't know there was still this many people

Slurpee

I don't know about notebooks, traveler's or d&d

when I played d&d I usually printed out character sheets and wrote on those, either in pencil or with a whiteout roller handy

man I love whiteout rollers

Slurpee

adding some ladytron to my music to listen to on the bus

they canceled the campus shuttle and gave us bus passes and it's actually kind of sweet because you can ride the bus anywhere for free, they don't care if it has anything to do with school, but it's also incredibly lame because the bus schedules don't align properly so what would be a ~25 minute ride on the shuttle comes to like an hour and fifty minutes, it's my balls and my ass.
I'm pretty sure it's one of those death spiral things, the bus sucks so nobody takes the bus so they make less and less money, so they run fewer buses and can't afford good bus logistics administrator people, so riding the bus sucks more and fewer people ride it ETC

Slurpee

but I guess that's more time to listen to new music

Slurpee

it's weird that the death spiral doesn't really work in the other direction. if something's really really good so more and more people use it so it makes more money and gets better and better one day it will just suddenly be terrible for no reason

PannacottaClock

at work they have two types of out rollers, whiteout rollers and light blueout rollers and i'm confused as to which one to use if i want to erase something, i feel like light blueout would be for when you need to know that something was there and whiteout is for when whatever is underneath is supposed to be expunged from this universe

oh i guess it's not confusing at all

honestly, probably a knockoff TRAVELER'S NOTEBOOK. They're just the blank covers with plennyo slots for goodies, then like, elastic bands for you to put your own notebooks in. i'd recommend dot grid because you can still write on it without it being distracting

This is one of my biggest frustrations with current business models. Start cheap and good, get popular and make tons of money, charge more and more, get worse and worse. Fucking hell.
