yeah I hear all that. it's something I have to remind myself of or I fall into counterproductive multitasking. if I'm trying to learn something I have to remind myself unplug but if I'm working on something I have planned out already I might have something in the background anyways. or if I'm trying to daydream up something, walking helps that too. sometimes I don't unplug while learning and wonder why the hell it didn't come out right the first time and then I realize "oh I'm focusing too much on some trivia video". I absolutely cannot read a book with other distractions but I'll play music during a manga or comic at the right moment. I still listen to this boss theme at climactic points.

slurpee you broke the cycle of ten buns in a pack and twelve hotdogs in the pack and it wasn't just buy six packs of hotdogs and five packs of buns. i'm proud of you

I think Michael Bay should live forever
or at least like 200 years

moreso than directors whose movies I like. when Guillermo dies it will be incredibly sad, but he lives like a human being, he learns and grows and changes. some artists drop off, some never lose their luster, some fall and claw back. Michael Bay does not change and does not need to. he only becomes more himself, and he's fully formed. and there's not going to be anyone else like him- they've tried, they can't. there's just not anybody with his particular mix of priorities and talents, and he's been pressing the same button for 30 years, and when that button needs pressing, he's the guy. the only guy. there will be such a void if we ever lose him. he should have stopped aging at like 42 and just live as long as america exists.

I learned there was controversy over changing sonic the hedgehog's arm color from beige to blue and now both versions look horribly wrong to me

also, this is dope as hell. I just got into """"painting"""" (copic markers and black ink on a watercolor brush) so every time I see something like this, I get another "ooh, that's a great way to use the colors"

sonic's blue fur is wrestling spandex

3d beige arm sonic looks wrong because they made the beige areas furry. no. they're bald spots. you think when sonic eats a chili dog he's gonna get it all in his beard? of course not. but sonic's bare chest is too hot for 3d animation. they're afraid to take it literally.

so they do blue arm sonic hoping we forget, but it's the difference between Strong Mad and Evel Knievel

wait yeah, ok. i can get behind the arms being bald, but then is the stomach not countershading

"rather than examining things through the critical determination approach which presupposes discrete categories, this book chooses to view everything as fuzzy and ill-defined and there are no borders but also the borders exist and are bad and but or are they? I am very deep and nuanced. sorry, did I say I'm very deep and nuanced? I meant that I may seem to be exceptionally cavernous and contoured, but the dialectical critical critique approach emphasizes that cavernousness and insubstantialiousness often cross over and intermingle in a way that reflects the necropolitical lived humanity of the constructed lifeworlds of those becoming human along the margins"

im making fun of a shitty book im reading don't worry about it
