According to CNN, he's buried in some cemetery nowhere near Neverland Ranch (I found this out after watching The Daily Show With Jon Stewart when Stewart made fun of celebrity grave experts).
 
Anyway, I think that people are in denial of Jackson's untimely (or very timely, for record sales) death because they can't come to terms with it, much like the Elvis Presley conspiracy theories that he was secretly alive somewhere (and coincidentally enough, Jackson was married to Elvis's daughter Lisa Marie Presley).
