QuoteLast year, we ran a story about Erik Martin, of Bellevue, a young boy with cancer who was literally transformed into his self-created superhero persona Electron Boy by the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Washington which created a day for him to save people in distreess in full Electron Boy costume, and to defeat his nemesis Dr Dark and his sidekick Blackout Boy.

As a result, he even received a custom made copy of an Electron Boy comic book to top it off.

The sad news is that Erik passed away this morning in Seattleââ,¬â,,¢s Childrenââ,¬â,,¢s Hospital. Eric had a short life. But thanks to the Make A Wish Foundation, he spent one day of it as a real life superheroââ,¬Â¦ heââ,¬â,,¢s certainly been an inspiration to many.

RIP :(

Every guy wants to be his  friend and every girl wants to date him. Understandably Slurpee is not a  very happy person.

AC Slater

They messed up the spelling of his name :( RIP Electron Boy.

With great cancer comes great responsibilities.

Well, at least he had one pretty awesome day.

You know you're getting older when stuff like this actually makes you feel something profound. When I was a kid I was just like, "PSSSH CANCER'S GAY!"

I read an article a while ago about a 10 year old girl who was waiting to see Pixar's Up before she died, and so Pixar came to her house with a DVD of it because she was too sick to see it in the theater, and she died later that night. I was devastated by it. It's like, man Pixar you are doing Jesus' work.

As soon as I saw that the initial post was from like a year ago, I knew that somebody found out that he'd passed away. :(

Captain America came back, and so did superman. He's just biding his time before the world needs to be saved again.
