He was fucking I'm a edgy teen?

Slurpee

the man won a Pulitzer Prize for criticism; he wasn't "I'm a edgy teen", he had a different understanding of what constitutes "art", and if you actually read his arguments he had a level of legitimately meritorious support for the claim.

he did a great deal in spreading the popularity of critical examination of popular culture. he respected the intellectual integrity of his audience. there are probably a lot of things that you disagreed with Ebert about. only video gamers thought the video game argument was important. maybe don't base your entire cognitive understanding about somebody's life on whether or not they think you enjoying Halo is important.

NintendoClock

Oh don't get all upset Slurpee. Surely you don't think I'd seriously discredit Ebert's entire life based on one statement.

I still think it was a rather dumb and unfortunate statement by someone who, more likely than not, was just out of touch with new forms of media outside of his own particular realm of comfort.

That is p much the point, it just wasn't his thing and even apologized for making the statement without having enough experience with them.

No, I just thought you were making a rather dumb and unfortunate statement by someone who, more likely than not, was just out of touch with forms of media outside of his own particular realm of comfort.

NintendoClock

Again, don't get upset Slurpee.

This seems to be the case with most of the butthurts.

Slurpee

Quote from: NintendoClock;1944929Again, don't get upset Slurpee.
I apologize for my emotional outburst.
Let's just hope I'm not still upset enough to pass this disagreement on and call you I'm a edgy teen over it when you're dead, because what's important about you, and what should follow you into the grave, isn't some childish grudge about something stupid you once said about something I liked.

FLOUNDERMAN_CLOCK

Old people dont understand video games you cant blame them for that. It's a damn miracle he could even use a computer.

PhantomCatClock

Go easy on Slurpee. The man who contributed the most to his favorite hobby, criticism, just passed away.

I know they have big plans for Thatcher's grave but I don't know how they're going to make a dance floor big enough.

I didn't know anyone who died in Lockerbie but I was glad when Abdelbaset al-Megrahi died.

It's not strictly personal, although a lot of my dad's family did lose work because of her during the 1980s.

I hate what she represented; elitism, nepotism, classism. It was her privatization that created the mass unemployment which led to the so-called "benefit class" of today. While cutting taxes made life much more comfortable for the rich and businesses.

Go back to saving North Korea by posting a picture of your hair junior.

And her dying was the only thing that stopped it all of course, she was oppressing people with her dementia

Nope I'm just making fun of her being dead.
