They're fucking atrocious, come judge me negatively!

Hey dude, I'm not an expert on this or anything, but if I were you here's what I'd do:

Give away your video games. You say that's what you do all day, but you think it's boring. So stop doing it. I used to log hundreds of hours playing games in my early twenties, until I realized that all that time could have used to do something productive; like art, socializing, or exercise. So I took my Playstation to the Goodwill. Bye bye! Same thing with watching TV; limit yourself to an hour a day or less.

Draw more. Art is only partly about talent. A lot more of it is about skills that you can learn. If you're not happy with your drawing, but it's something that you want to be good at then you have to keep practicing. Try to spend at least 15 to 30 minutes a day just sketching; not fully rendered and detailed final pieces but just quick drawings that you can do in a few minutes or even a few seconds. When I was in college one of my art instructors would put up a slideshow of classical paintings which would change every thirty seconds. Our job was to draw as much of the painting as we could in that time. The sketches would always come out looking like scribbles but this exercise was what helped me the most to understand proportion and motion in art. Take art classes too (if you're not already); from many different schools and instructors. Sometimes it takes a few tries to find the good ones.

As for your depression and social anxieties: that's a bit trickier. I used to be mildly depressed and I had a really hard time talking to people at parties, in public places, or even picking up the phone and calling someone I didn't know. I had issues with self-confidence, and it took a lot of small exercises to eventually build myself up to actually liking myself for who I was. Starting with straight up Stuart Smalley shit; basically telling myself in the mirror that I was good enough, smart enough, and, gosh darn it, people like me. It sounds I'm a edgy teen, but the more you tell yourself negative things the more you're going to believe them. If you can focus on positive thoughts instead your self perception will improve. Take pride in your image, and stay well groomed. Get yourself a clean new outfit and go to a bar. After a few drinks hit the dance floor and cut loose. Don't worry if you suck at dancing because 99% of the other people there are gonna suck too. It more about releasing your inhibitions, not giving a fuck about what other people think of you, and having a good time while doing it.

Renegade gave some good advice. I get that the video games are the escape... the distraction from how unhappy you are with where you're at right now. Cutting back might be a good idea, tho. Join a dating site. Adopt a dog. Take a cake decorating class. Whatever will break your routine.

I think the vlog is a good step towards improving your state of mind. I spend a lot of time talking to nobody in my backyard because if you don't vent the steam, the kettle explodes.

Much obliged for the advice, I'm actively trying to change my life around so I'll take some or all of that to heart...even though I probably won't give my games away, that's like the only escape from my depresso hell I currently have. There may come a time when that isn't so and I'd rather like that. I think my biggest issue is getting the motivation to do anything, I've been stuck in this bullshit for so long my creative drive is shot and so is pretty much the rest of me, it's gotten so bad I can barely get up the strength to get out of bed and that's with meds helping me out (will have to talk to the docs about maybe upping my doses). I think I'm going to give up on searching for an employer and work on getting freelance work, I don't have much on marketeable skills but I think I can learn something new, just need to get my motivation up.

Day 3, terrible day overall. Still at least I got all my limbs and I'm not homeless.

thats a great set of advices, man!

while my personal opinion on video-games is that you must always keep some videogames in order to vent some steam there, (and to release stress/and/or worries), i agree with all the rest.

and this goes to boomstick-clock, or to anyone who feels like him:

-always practise about confidence in front of your mirror.

-try new things, like drawing classes (like renegade said), or do a new hobby/sport/activity in general

-shave your beard, and try some new outfit that you like. change yoru style, and start introducing urself to people.

start by meeting up with your close friends, then meet with your friends friends (that you dont know so well), and then gradually start meeting new people and making new contacts, or friendships.

who knows, you might find some good buddies, man!

thats how i got some good friends.

also, a nice hobby can always help you meeting new people and to grow artistically.
let it be knitting, a sport, sticker collection, clay moulding classes, everything can help you in becoming more social.
tho, yes, drawing classes are the best, both artistically and socially.

I honestly don't know, it just manifested itself from thin air.

I didn't watch any of those but if you're feeling depressed, try going out and getting some exercise. Jogging, lifting some heavy things, pushups and situps. You'd be amazed at what it does for your mood and how you feel overall.

this. a healthy excersize can help VS depression.

excersize + a hobby (with some group activity maybe..dunno) =good thing.

Ya know, vlogging actually feels quite nice...it's therapeutic, I don't even feel that terrible that I'm effectively robbing viewers minutes of their lives by being a boring fucker. :D

BilliardBall10

you heard my advice and you went to the doctor? GOOD!
the doctor called it a.....
.....psychiopsiciod?

what's the condition's name again? i couldn't hear well.
tell me, and i might be able to help you with it.

also,again@boomstick: man, i've seen all of your VLOGS, and i came to the following conclusions:

-you look pretty awesome. you have an adorable face (no homo), and a GREAT voice for narrating stuff.
have you ever considered narrating stuff?

-i loved some moments from those vids.

''the movie saboteur with arnold. i expected it would be bad. but it was actually pretty good. not great, not horrible, but worth its 5 bucks''.

''schizophrenia light''

all i want to say, is:
relax, noone starts his life as a social being. start excersizing, start/find/try a new hobby, and try talking with people who share the ssame hobby as you do.

do you like making music? go in a music class!
do you like drawing? start taking drawing classes!

it will help you alot.

also, inform me about the stomach virus thing. i might have a good advice.
