Anyway, I'm reading

The Yellow Dog by Georges Simenon. It's pretty decent, but translated from French, so it's lost some of it's genuinity. It's a murder mystery set in a small town.

I just finished reading Ragtime by E. L. Doctorow.

It was good, it had some cool characters, and a climatic ending.

Another graphic novel by Daniel Clowes. He's a great guy, best known probably for "Ghost World" (I think)  which got turned into a movie.

If you're going to his comics, though, I'd especially recommend Like a Velvet Glove Cast in Iron.  It's surreal, epic, and masterful!

Just read The Tawny Man series by Robin Hobb which is a brilliant series, I also read the other series by her, the Assassin one that I forget the name of. Right now I'm reading Shaman's Crossing, the first book in the Soldier Son Trilogy
