It's a funny thing that amidst all the very big things happening in HPatDH, there's almost nothing like "SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE" you can really use to spoil the book for people. What can you say, "Harry DOESN'T die"? "He gets married and lives happily ever after"? "Mad-eye Moody/ Dobby/ Colin Creevy dies"?

Yeah, in Half-blood prince there was one giant goings-on, whereas in Deathly Hallows it's just a bunch of deaths (and the obvious).

Thank You For Smoking is due back to the library considerably sooner than Nineteen Eighty-Four, so now I'm reading that. It's hilarious.

My books called Rant by he way. It's pretty cool so far.

I heard it was incredible, but I'm not all that fond of Chucky P.

Anyhow I'm reading Karl Menninger's Man Against Himself and I'm quite fond of it. It deals with suicide and other self-afflicted problems man has had. It's not a novel, but a scientific investigation. Still very interesting.

Also Dante's Divine Comedy, which is turning out to be a very difficult read because the whole book is a vast intertwinement of symbolism and very tough to follow.

Finished Generation X: well written and funny at times though all the characters are superficial bores, but maybe that just captures 'generation x' perfectly. I wouldn't know, glad I missed that boat.

Just finished Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse five, debating whether I want to re-read Go rin no sho (Miyamoto Musashi) for the billionth time or Joseph Conrad's Heart of darkness, which is the book that the movie "Apocalypse now" was based off of.

I just finished Cell by Stephen King yesterday. It's kind of strange hearing him talking about iPods and cell phones and shit when most of the stuff he does is set in the seventies but you can still tell it's him.

How was it? Is it worth dropping like $30 on the hardcover or should I wait until it comes out in paperback? My only fear is that someone is going to spoil the book for me before I can get a copy which I absolutely don't want to happen.
