Quote from: Atrus;1587693Okay, if you really want...

TakeTwo paid $12 million for the publishing rights in 2000, and if 3D Realms wasted their investment, I think they're entitled to file a lawsuit. It's ridiculous to say that "no money changed hands"; what, do you think TakeTwo just came in there every three years or so to offer moral support? :ohdear: Even if that wasn't the case, the head-spinning amount of time that was wasted is grounds for a lawsuit.
the 12 million TakeTwo paid was to buy the publishing rights from, not 3Drealms but, Infogrames (who changed their name to Atari in 2003) who had consumed the publishing rights for DNF from the buyout of GT Interactive who originally had the rights.
that being said, 3DR has only seen the 2 million from TakeTwo and that was for an "unannounced game", not Duke Nukem Forever.

the development time for a game is not grounds for a lawsuit, if TakeTwo was really pissy about that, why didn't they sell of the publishing rights to someone else? answer: because this current lawsuit is nothing more than a bully tactic for TakeTwo to aquire the developing rights for Duke Nukem then sell it off to another company.

Quote from: Atrus;1587693Duke Nukem is basically the male version of Lara Croft.

and I'd have to disagree because i don't think that 13 year old girls with holes in their pockets would be fingering themselves to pictures of Duke.

Poltergeist

no no, both Lara and duke appeal to the same fanbase.

Now presenting a comic that takes 20 miinutes to read

Slurpee

Poltergeist

The comic's tagline is actually "comics with too many words"

AstronautClock

I read all of the words. I believe there are some punchlines but I cant say it was really worth the read

that's the joke

Topcatyo

The joke is that the comic is not enjoyable?

SnakeClock

Quote from: Redundant Clock;1588363The joke is that the comic is not enjoyable?

Yes, I get that distinct impression. It's a satire.

Slurpee

TremcladClock

Webcomics about video games are akin to cancer-riddled ballsacs. Even if they're satirical.

Poltergeist

It's not a webcomic about video games, that strip was a parody of them, hence the "WEBCOMIC ABOUT VIDEO GAMES" written in bold at the top. If anything it was showing the fact that the characters have obvious gaping flaws and aren't really ideal characters for light entertainment

Also it had Duke Nukem
