anyone can celebrate lent, i'm atheist and i celebrate christmas and easter. although christmas is more like presents day and easter is more like shitload of chocolate day.

seriously, being atheist is awesome because you get to celebrate the holidays where you mooch off people and don't celebrate ones like lent because you're not religious. it's hilarious

Im an atheist but up until this afternoon, I was clean from smoking for a full 24 hours.

Now that was induced by a lack of supermarkets instead of willpower but still.

I usually do that, but I figured now would be a good Lent to do things that would actually make some good personal change, so I'm actually giving up stuff.

I'm pretty sure you can "celebrate" Lent (Snake was more correct when he said

).  Usually you give something up for Lent to better yourself (at least, for 40 days).  It's good for more reasons that just religious reasons.  As for Lent, yeah, you'd dread it if that was your attitude toward the holiday, but as I said before, you can use the holiday to better yourself and I see it as a nice little challenge about my self-control.

I'm giving up skateboarding and driving my sister crazy. Never gave up anything for lent before so I think I'll make this one a doozy: Making fun of people with problems they can't solve and aren't their faults. (I won't last long.)
