Radiohead allowed fans to choose a price for their latest tunes. Now, the best-selling band is hoping fans will make them a music video, too.

TBD Records, Cartoon Network's Adult Swim and animation Web portal Aniboom.com are sponsoring an online contest inviting Radiohead fans to produce an animated music video for any song from "In Rainbows," the band's popular 2007 album that was originally available for download at an optional price.

Online voters and a panel of judges will select finalists with Radiohead choosing a winner who will receive a $10,000 prize to produce a full-length animated music video. The competition began Monday and continues through April 27.

I know I don't post very often, but I saw this today and I had to pass it along.

Over the years the Clock Crew has produced some top notch Flash animations--the kinds of movies I never imagined we'd be making when we started.  Our style is creative, innovative, and totally unique.  We push buttons, yes, and we also push boundaries.  And as the old saying goes, we pretty much run Newgrounds.  Think about it: if there wasn't so much playa hating going on, our movies would dominate the top 50.  Long story short, we're awesome.

So when I saw this thing on Yahoo talking about Radiohead looking for a new music video, I thought it was the perfect chance to show everyone what we're made of.  With the right animators, a well-planned collab can win this thing--or at the very least, get some much-deserved recognition.

NIN seems to be just following Radiohead's lead on everything internet related. It is a great idea though to do either groups animation. Radioheads' musical style has always seemed heavily experimental and more fitting towards the Clock Crews' surrealist ideal.

well in my opinion NIN are doing it much better. Radiohead's internet stunts seem very limp wristed and commercial.

I love Radiohead, I just think their moves are pretty transparent for anyone who knows anything about the industry and the products
