Ok, as I'm really curious to figure out what the fuck is going on with my computer quickly, I'm posting this in general. So every time I turn on my PC, explorer.exe doesn't start. So I have to go into the task manager and start the process manually. It works, but seriously what the fuck is going on? I haven't installed anything weird lately. Any ideas children?

Aparentally you have no fucking clue what explorer.exe is.

You sure it's turned on?

run msconfig and see it it's activated in the services tab or something.

I read ie explorer, oh well

I'm pretty sure there should be a file in C:/windows/prefetch/ that should be starting explorer when the computer strats.

It's in there, I just checked my running processes and saw something called gun.exe. Any idea what the hell it is? I have already stopped it from running any further in case of the worst.

I dunno. Googlecheck turns up two main things: exe for Gunz (game), or a spyware/malware file.

I wonder which one it is. :D
<Marlin Clock> This thread seems proof positive that divisiveness at any level is usually bad for the Clock Crew.
<PhantomCatClock> are we talking about the same clock crew

Unreal are you currently playing Gunz? _poogle_

Further Googlechecking says that it won't start up because of a virus or a setting.

How dirty is your computer?

Maybe I should stop fantasizing about slicing people up with my swords, and I wiped my hard-drive like 3 days ago, so it should be clean as a whistle, unless MAME somehow transformed into a Super-Virus!

Perhaps you have a residual virus on another drive.

Happened to me.

Skip yourself the trouble of diagnosing it and reformat. It happened to me ONCE on Vista and another time on XP, so clearly it's not a bug they've fixed.

Honestly: Save the trouble by reformatting; You're not going to manage to fix it. Sorry.

I'm a, "Underground Gamer" of sorts, but of course I can't "tell" you the website. That might break site rules.

That's actually quite comical.

But yeah, reformat is the quickest/easiest cure. Without explorer.exe, Windows is actually (note I could've said virtually) useless. I spent days upon days trying to fix it but to no avail. It's not worth the time spent working on it.

I think I'm just going to sit it out, and not turn my computer off for the rest of time itself. It really isn't that bothersome to start the process manually.

Just put explorer.exe in the startup folder :\
Reformatting your comp is a bad idea.
lemayo lol :soups:
