I finally played some of this a tiny bit this morning. Though it wasn't enough to give a full opinion on the game, of course, I loved what I did get to see. Dunno if this count as spoilers or not but either way:

Got up to the part in Vault 101 where I just left my birthday party and arrived at the nuclear reactor. Everything's flowed smoothy and well. I like my dad a lot. He looks bright and kind, and well, is rather kind actually. I love how so far, everything's been more of a social aspect. I had to stand around at the party, talk, and the dialogue was great and funny. Those bullies were really mean! ;_;

I'm running this on High pretty well so ye pretty happy about that. I love the atmosphere and all so far so I think I'll come to like this game a lot. Glad I bought it.
hej.

a lot, otherwise the different weapons skills would be a bit silly.

does your dad's face change according to how you chose yours?
awesome!
I thought it might, since he said that I'd look like him later.

A significant amount less from the previous two :l It's not a lot at all.

Also, pretty sure your dad just changes race, that's it. I've altered a caucasian around and he hasn't changed.

So I looked up the numbers:

Fallout 1
12 small, 3 big, 10 energy, 12 melee, 6 explosive
Total: 43

Fallout 2
29 small, 8 big, 21 energy, 19 melee, 7 explosive
Total: 84
(Some are exactly taken from Fallout 1)

New in Fallout 2
16 small, 5 big, 11 energy, 7 melee, 1 explosive
Total: 40

Fallout 3
24 small, 10 big, 12 energy, 32 melee, 6 explosive, 7 custom
Total: 91
(Some are based on previous fallout, but none exact)

Also, Fallout 3 has a ridiculously huge number of armor compared to Fallout 1 or 2. No info on any other matter though.

Except you should roughly half these numbers, because a good chunk are just 'Specially-named-gun-that's-a-bit-better-than-normal'.

Otherwise, you've skimped out on a few of Fallout 2's extra bunch, Small Guns is in the thirties if you're counting 'duplicates'.

Still, impressed that they have three base pistol types.

Edit: Double-checking, Fallout 3 has just a little less than Fallout 2 (Including duplicates), but 3 has less 'unique base' weapons, so bleh.

salt

man I am so glad this hasn't turned out to be Oblivion with guns.

at least for me, it hasn't.

love thisss

In Fallout 2 the duplicate guns I subtracted were exactly like the gun that was duplicate.
If something has a similar name, but different stats, then its a different gun.
I can't be 100% sure about duplicates though.

And in Fallout 2 if you include duplicate type guns you'd still have a total of only 90 (only 6).

I'm not sure what gave you the idea that Fallout 2 had so many more guns than Fallout 3. They have basically the same amount.

so I found the console command that can supposedly alter the levelcap
setgs iMaxCharacterLevel n
n being the new levelcap, of course
I'll try this right now

edit: I tried it for 40 and the console responded by stating that Gamesetting iMaxCharacterLevel >> 40
so it worked

wooo :D

I tried to get back into Vault 101 but it said that the door was activated some place else.

you get the quest by escorting the nerds scientists to the citadel, then answering the distress signal on your radio via Megaton

the ps3 is the worst port of the game

Development went something like this

Original->Xbox360 -> PC -> Ps3
:]

Marlin Clock

I don't give a fuck about that. I saw a side-by-side comparison and there was barely a difference between 360 and the PS3.
