Audio syncing in animation help please

Well I haven't been making any flash animations for over a year and
I have some questions...

My sounds are not synced with the animation if I make the animation
and sounds in the main timeline,
so I make about 5 big movie clips in the main timeline which are parts of the movie... (stop command at main timeline and gotonextframe at the end of the movieclip)
This is the only way I can get it to be synced...

Anyways.. I want to make a button for play and stop,
but I don't really know how to do this with movieclips, they never seem to stop..

Can someone tell me what actionscript do I need to write to make
the animation and sound to stop? (and play of course)
(the whole animation is in movieclips!!!!)

Or... if that doesn't work... is there any other way to make
animation without those sound problems?? (yes it's stream and not event)

Sometimes flash betrays you in little but significant details as sound synch, Skor once told me to make a silence sound clip so you put it next to the other sounds.

Multiple scenes tend to mess up the sound sync. Put everything in one scene and movie clip.

copy the sounds into their own movie clips so they play when that movie clip appears

Won't it make the movie lag when a new movieclip appears
each time a sound plays?
