You know apparently being a cheap lazy motherfucker is one way of being very green. I've apparently always been green without even really knowing it. I don't drive around at all, I buy shit that saves on the electricity bill, and I never turn my appliances on. Hell I sit around all day eating microwaved quesadilas.

Some people do take it too far, and some of the "technology" that has come out is questionable at best. So for the sake of fun I'm going to make a picture list of shit that will NOT save the planet.

Green burials

These bulbs(Though they do save on electricity bills)

Bozo the Clown's "Pimp My Ride" (Plus they are unsafe on American roads)

Comes in regular premium and unleaded

This asshole

These aren't very good for the environment.

These people although they would make excellent compost if we just killed them.

It's not like the fresh melting ice won't clean the spills.

Case in point the whole world thinks that light bulbs, midget cars, and not eating animals is going to save the fucking planet enough to do all this other stupid crap.

Marlin Clock

I don't think PETA is out to save the world. They're batshit insane. Most of the time it seems like they're trying to exterminate the human race or something for its "transgressions" against animals.

Also who buys the whole animal when they buy shrinkwrapped meat?

AbsintheClock

Well exterminating human beings would clearly bring "carbon footprints" down. I say we start with them, and use their organs to plant some great big oak trees. And of course they're not out to save the world. None of this shit is really, it's just suggested as so in society hence why it is on that list!

It's hella fucking tasty is what it is.

Y'know, I've always wanted to see that movie but Idno since I already know the big plot twist since it's been quoted by every pop culture show ever devised.

GodClock

fuck environmentalist shit, most of it isn't true, the only benefit to it is it saves on money. i guess i would be "thinking green" by using a bicycle as primary transportation, but i do it because bikes are very enjoyable to ride, the fact that gas is expensive is just a bonus for me not having to buy it.

Quote from: Deep Blue;1355209Sorry, I wasn't saying that Greenland was once green just because of the name, but because of the signs of vegetation found under the ice sheet that now covers the vast majority of Greenland.

Yeah, not since humans have been there, no. The name was the only way to get anybody to immigrate, and then probably not be allowed to leave.

Quote from: The Hero of Winds;1356638Y'know, I've always wanted to see that movie but Idno since I already know the big plot twist since it's been quoted by every pop culture show ever devised.

It goes on after that, though, and I think the main character struggles to take down Soylent and such. Also, there's shower sex.

No. It ends with his discovery. And then it fades into a montage of a bunch of meadows that you see when you go into the assisted suicide clinics where they show you what the world was like before mankind fucked everything up.

And I don't care about sex. As long as Charlton Heston is having it, I don't want to see it.

EDIT: Other than Al Gore, I have never seen a politician seriously talk about the environment. While I don't doubt that it'll become a serious issue, they only mention it in passing, focusing on the economy and other social issues. I don't buy at all into people's conspiracy theories about how those damned liberals and scientists (because, really, what do people who have devoted their entire lives to researching the Earth know about the environment, amirite?) are trying to get us all rallied around this 'save-the-earth' bandwagon. I don't think politicians care enough, and I certainly don't think the majority of people care enough to rally behind a cause like that, because god-forbid they should dramatically alter their lifestyles in a way that will actually be easier and more economically sensible in the long run.

Moreover, I for one am sick of so many people joining the 'global warming is bad but there's no way to stop it so fuck all' ideology. Nice job, gentlemen, you have successfully reduced every environmental issue and concern we have into a bastardization of one theory. I seriously don't understand the logic: The earth has natural cooling and warming periods, therefore it is impossible that life on the planet can have any significant contribution and potentially cause disastrous environmental consequences. All you are doing is rejecting global warming as a way of personally washing your hands of all environmental concerns.

It feels good to say what I want. It feels good to knock things down. It feels good to see the disgust in their eyes. It feels good and I\'m gonna go wild. SPRAY! PAINT! THE! WALLS!

hey ted kennedy is awesome and if you don't think so you're a communist.

LimeClock

Global warming is a hoax made to make people vote democrat. lawl.

Al Gores facts are flawed, he says there have been no fluxuations, and in his charts it shows that...however the medieval warming period was rubbed out? Curious.

BlackberryClock

It's weird how people are blaming the "green scare" on politicians and people who "want to fill their wallets" when the people pushing the hardest on global warming and similar issues (people like Green Peace) are actually very anti-business, far-left people.

They are trying to harm business, big industries, and capitalism in general because of their ideology.

crock pot pot roadt

no its not global warming its global cooling the temperature is dropping everyday

Quote from: yo if your smart you;1372690It's more or less dependent of where you live. I've never heard of that big Environmentalist scene in Florida, be it the lefties or the scientific community. Though I've heard they get the same FOX News stories on Al Gore as the rest of the world. Not to dismiss that there isn't a scientific community in Florida but Environment Canada tackles a lot of Florida's toxicological related problems each year.

Uh, what? Can you reword this or something, I don't know what your point is (for real, I'm not trying to be a bitch).

Also, I've been meaning to tell you because it's been bugging me:

idea =/= ideal
(They don't mean the same thing. They are not interchangeable.)

Kidney BeanClock

I think human interference has some part in the climate warming up, but definitely not as much as the media wants us to believe.

RomanClock

Too bad climate control isn't really this easy!
lemayo lol :soups:

I believe it's "Climate change" now.

Quote from: yo if your smart you;1373440Green Peace, PETA, and the like, are not to blame for the Green Scare. Green Peace has been using the "Green Scare" since the 80's, if not the '70's, without any one making a fuss over it. Although all of these Environmentalist groups have been pushing for years for more attention to the matter; it was not until politicians, the media, and corporate schmoes took advantage of it, that the "Green Scare" became so heavily turned to.
I'd say that's true. It's really been a gradual increase over the years, jumping from one issues to another. Save the whales, save the Amazon rainforest, now it's save the entire Earth from warming. The difference is that more people are on board now, like you said. But it remains that the a lot of the direction for the movement is coming from these environmentalist groups.
