Design the official CC Preloader!

Our old preloader is a classic but not something we can really get behind as a symbol of our group anymore. It's an antique.

I'd like to see an updated version of the preloader, preferably making use of the logo that's currently heading the clock crew charter. (with or without the OBEY text)

It appears that TremcladClock has helpfully converted the logo to flash by tracing the original graphic, and he's provided the FLA in the cc file library:

I can't check how close a copy it is to the original logo, as i'm not at my own computer today (so I don't have flash). UnknownClock traced the logo excellently, I recall, but the file is on my pc. If he would post his version in this thread for people to use, that would be excellent.

Alternatively you can design an entirely new logo or update the old one to make it more appropriate. If you're going to design a new logo -- make it timeless, and remember that it doesn't necessarily have to include the newgrounds tank or any newgrounds symbolism.

Put some serious work into your entry -- it could be on every clock movie! If it's appealing to all, it may adorn the first frames of all the latest and greatest clock masterpieces!

Keep in mind, the official preloader should be:

• Userfriendly: It should be easy to apply to any flash movie. As simple as copy+paste.
  
• Versatile: It should allow for the fact that an animation may come in varying dimensions, and in a wide spread of framerates, with different coloured backgrounds.
  
• Small in file size: Nobody wants the preloader to take up 50% of their animation's file size. If it's too big and complicated, people simply won't use it.
  
• Timeless: A design that is modern and relevant but does not age quickly and one which represents unchanging aspects of the clock crew.

I could help with ideas I really don't want to make anything for a while since I'm swamped with school and need to make an afterschool homework/games/cc schedule that works for me
Idea #1 make the obey black and have a black bar load behind it and when the bar passes a letter the letter turns white so it can be seen, and when it's fully loaded obey turns to play

have a go at it if you wish:
The Obey thing fades in (kinda like the NG logo on the "Everything By Everyone " Intro) then it starts glowing, when you click it it flashes fades out and the movie begins.

I had an idea similar to this, based on Z!pstyke's Clock salad. Basically a bunch of clocks falling into a blender. The play button is part of the blender and lights up when the blender's full (or something), when you press it, it starts blending.

That said, I'll be using the classic Clock Crew preloader forever.

ps. all this talk about preloaders has got me thinking, does anyone still have that preloader Synj did a long time ago? I think it was for Clock Day '03.

Not sure if you know this, but it plays no matter when you click on the cogs, regardless of whether or not the whole thing is "loaded".

Basically the animation is completely irrelevant to loading percentage, even if it's supposed to be one piece every 10%.

Meh, it was a rush job done on CD morning.
