ITT: Albums purchased recently

Don't buy that many cd's, but this is my most recent purchase. Bought it over itunes.

"The wild thing about these boys is they would look glam but play a more sophisticated style in the vein of DURAN DURAN, BLONDIE, BOWIE and at times ALICE COOPER. PHAROAH did release one album back in 1986 called “First Strike” on Lipstick East Records but as music fell prey to grunge PHAROAH faded with the wind."

This is basically a re-release of that cd with more songs. It rocks. This band sounds nothing like the other often tagged hair metal bands of the 80's. More synth and dance sounds.

Good observation. He's actually photoshopped in. It's the keyboardist that was later added to the lineup, they recently went back into the studio and put together the new cd. You can also tell he looks way older than the others.

Pendulum - Immersion

Big disappointment. Half was loud and soulless, and half were incomplete experiments. The only tracks I liked were 'Salt in the wounds', 'Watercolour' and 'Set me on fire'.

Otherwise I've pre-ordered this


Uffie - Sex, Dreams and Denim Jeans

Uffie's been the underdog for years, contributing with "Ed Banger Records" artists on various songs (Most notably "The Party" from Justice's album 'Cross' (See here)). Her lyrical style has been shamelessly ripped off by mainstream artists like Ke$ha, Rihanna and Lady Gaga over the years. This is her debut album, and it'll be smoking hot.

Half the album is produced by Mr Oizo (Best known for 'Flat Beat' (See here)). His beats are fucking hot dude. Check the track below.

Other than that.. I'm eagerly waiting for Justice's 2010 album, and the New Daft Punk album to coincide with the release of Tron 2.0.

That was bad also. Nothing 'big', like about half of Demon Days. When Gorillaz do 'big' its great, but when they dont, its below average alternate drivel.

noooooo, i liked plastic beach. anywho have you seen the trailers for mr. oizo's new film RUBBER? also DJ Mehdi from the Ed Banger label collaborated with Riton to form "Carte Blanche" which is this awesome chicago house inspired project, they released a 4 song ep back in may. also Mr Flash, the first artist signed to ed banger, released a new ep entitled "Blood, Sweat and Tears" i've only heard a few songs but its pretty good.

Little Big Planet Original Soundtrack:

What could I possibly say about this that you guys don't already know? The CD brings forth a fabulous array of sounds that can immediately change your day into a bright and happy one. So far, my favorite artist on the soundtrack has to be the Daniel Pemberton TV Orchestra which dominates a majority of the artists on the CD with 18 tracks. If you don't already own this, I highly recommend picking it up.



Thunder, Lightning, Strike by The Go! Team:

From the first track alone, you should become hooked to this group. Their instrumentation and sound is somewhat similar to surf rock, soul, (modern day) indie, and electronica all in one neat package. "Get It Together" was featured on the LBP Soundtrack as the first song and is probably one of the best pieces on the album. It's very very catchy and an all around great listen. Another highly recommended CD from me.



Eagle vs. Shark Original Soundtrack:[/u]

I finally managed to hunt down this CD and add it to my collection after seeing the movie a year or so ago. This album has a bit more of an indie feel to it (which is right up my alley) and includes artists: The Phoenix Foundation, Luke Buda, Age And The Marvellous Medicine, and The Stone Roses. It's a very light-hearted CD with some nice instrumental songs that are sure to make you feel all tingly on the inside. I find it hard to truly explain how wonderful of an album this is, so again, all I can do is recommend you acquire it for yourself, or you can even look up some of the songs on youtube if you'd like.
