bb10 understood me when I called his posts "agathocacological" by deriving meaning from the prefixes

he's a special boy ok

I read in a Vanity Fair that the quality of Slurpeeposts have gone downhill since the great Review on Earthbound and an Interview with Itoi About the Circumstances Surrounding its Creation post of '09 and I didn't want to believe it because I love you like a friend and a brother

but I still would like to hear your comments on the accusation

pop-tart

Does anyone else fall under the moderate centrist umbrella and basically just fucking hate people on the far-left and far-right.. not for their views... but their stubborn, narrow-minded, ass-hattery when you try to present facts that don't fit their narrative?

Me at a party:

"I think that a ban on all Muslims is discriminatory and that we have an obligation to Syrian refugees since we destabilized that region."

"GRRR SNOWFLAKE LOCK HER UP LIBTARD PEPE FROG WAR ON CHRISTMAS!"

"I also think cutting Federal funding to schools due to the bathroom policies is ignorant because it takes resources from all students, of all genders."

"YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND STRUGGLE GRRR HARAMBE JENNER FIDGET SPINNER SAFE-SPACE RAGE"

Well fuck me Ima go stand over here by the window now.

PhantomCatClock

Stop the conversation and introduce them to NewGrounds, making sure to use Flash cartoon examples as you explain the website's history with a particular emphasis on the Clock Crew. Actually spend the 5-20 minutes per movie watching every relevant cartoon as you do this. Slowly build up to you and your cartoons, show them all of them, and say no questions til the end. Once you're sure they'll understand the joke, look them dead in the eyes and say "that's Pop-Tartded" and then leave the party but come back with ice because you're a good friend and their drinks are probably warm after all that

AnkhClock

I need you guys help in finding a Clock movie from a while back. It was the Cheers theme ("Where Everybody Knows Your Name"), but with Clocks. For the life of me I can't remember who made it, but a cursory glance at the usual suspects didn't turn up anything.

I'm not sure if it was a "classic" clock movie but it definitely had the feel of one.

you don't have to be centrist to hate the partisan bickering
the bickering serves neither cause nor does it move the collective to any kind of observable truth
it's basically just a way for dumb people to feel like they're informed and righteous advocates of a just cause by engaging in the discourse equivalent of a chimpanzee shit fight

PhantomCatClock

as a dumb person, I'd be offended if I didn't have a migraine and just discover I'm out of Excedrin

That's the one! Thank you Friend.

I looked over Turdclock's account but I must've passed over it because the name didn't evoke Cheers (though now that I think about it... 5 O'Clock, I get it).

ok, so on what side of the political spectrum are the liberals (centre-right?), and which are their core differences from conservatives?
the terms are actually meaningless on a global scale because they don't represent coherent consistent philosophies, just whatever party happens to have grown most associated with the descriptor in the continually unfolding political landscape of their respective countries at any given moment

a safe bet in the case of either term is that they're a set of philosophically diverse individuals that sacrificed integrity on the altar of political necessity, reducing a boundless world of socioeconomic thought into rival sports teams out of a desperate need to consolidate their philosophically untethered constituents into reliable voting blocs by saying things that make them feel good about whatever they already believed regardless of its basis in reality

yes, i understand.

indeed, political parties/coalitions can be different from country to country, and what is ''good'' in one country can be bad in an other country...
(for example: liberals/liberalism are a ''good'' party in USA/canada, but in my country, liberals/liberalism are more like narrow-minded right-wing politicians who only care about power+money. then again, EVERY politician in the world ONLY cares about power +money, so thats not a definitive trait.
still, liberals/liberalism in my country are right-wing politicians, with very backwards thinking.
(unlike their european/canadian/american counterparts).

also, liberalism used to represent something ''good'' in the 1910's(in my lands), yet it later changed back into a bad, wrong ideal, due to corruption, bad ethics and the rise of nationalism.

however, while liberals/liberalism can be a ''progressive'' centre-right wing ideology in europe/canada/USA, conservatism/conservatives are always the more ''constipated'' right-wing politicians, who love militarism/war/selling guns/NRA/monopolies and the like...

and so, it seems to me that, conservatism/conservatives are always the same all around the world(give or take a few features), unlike in the case of the liberals/liberalism, which have many more variations+deviations per-country/era.

also: what differences/similarities do christian-democrats have with conservatives/right-wing parties/liberals?
obviously, the christian-democrats are obsessed with conservative ideas, such as keeping the population of their country ''free'' of immigrants/foreign people, they possibly are against abortions/polygamy, and they are supporting harsher penalties for drug usage, even if its medical marijuana...

politics can be a really complex place, and i often avoid it at all costs.
but one truth is universal:
all politicians are lying. they onyl want money+power. never trust politicians.
so, noone should be obsessed with political ideologies/coalitions/parties... thats all.

i like the centre-wing, though. it seems... nice. balanced*.  (*if anything can be truly ''balanced'' in politics, that is!)

Do you think your answer made poor BB10 any smarter
only knowledge+the desire to learn more things can make you smarter.
answers can't make oneself smarter, unless you try hard to think/investigate/study for a deeper meaning in the vast field of knowledge.

conservatives believe that banks are a scary idea but a necessary evil

liberals make balloon animals out of condoms

conservatives prefer action-comedy but will sit through chick flicks at home where nobody can see them watching it

liberals make better movies anyway

phantomcat for mayor 2017 except in september when we do that
so, what party/coalition/wing do you like, phantomcat?
i like the centre, and anything that supports peace, support for weaker social groups+generally something that has a realistic, reasonable economic program in mind.

http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/450701
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/48299

so, i was trying to find more info about this movie:
www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/48299
and while it was created by gherkinclock(who is that guy?!), on 2002, it was the only one of the 3 listed movies above to get deleted/removed by NG's staff, due to music ''violations''...
yet, here's the weird part:
all 3 animations in the quote above had the song of ''cheers'' posted in them, yet only the deleted movie had the information about the song included in its ''music credits'' section.

the moral: never write the name of your music in the ''music credits'' bar of your project.
how i hate those ''music crusaders''/the music companies!
