Also, Fuck the whole "Your this guy and you're going back to your ancestors time to be an assasin..Lay on this magical bench and close your eyes." That is by far the lamest concept of any game ever.

TequilaClock

What I like is how candent the whole Microsoft/Sony war is, and watching them bragging what waggle is better will be hilarious.

Quote from: Marlix Wright;1591887I simply want the story of the end of the world that brought about Windwaker.

I totally agree

Poltergeist

I agree Marlin, I really would have liked TP to have ended that way until I found out TP actually takes place the same time as Wind Waker, just in the universe where Link remained.

The truth is though, a game ending with the destruction of the world wouldn't work, nobody wants an ending like that. It COULD work if we go back to my whole "playing as a bad guy" thing, ending with the bad guy sitting in a tower with a pleasent view of the world being torn apart.

Marlin Clock

I would think the hero's task in that story would be assuring that the people of Hyrule escape to the mountaintops as the world floods beneath him.

That ending would be kind of dull too. Can you imagine a fun mission involving escorting around fifty people to various mountain tops as far apart as the islands in wind waker, then having the game end with everyone just sitting around? Also the ocean was freaking deep, getting to the top of the mountains would be pretty darned boring

TequilaClock

And also Wind Waker is not a sad ending that reminds you that OH SHIT I LIVE IN A WORLD OF RUIN NO AAAAA but an ending about finding new lands as Hyrule is old sunken shit.

Topcatyo

So, what happened during Sony's E3 conference?  I missed it.  As far as I've heard, some motion-sensing controller I don't care about and PSPGo, which I also don't care about.

Poltergeist

I haven't seen it, I'll watch it tomorrow maybe. You can see a recording of it on IGN.

It would be, but what about if you make it the beginning?

The first few dungeons are actually what activates the flood, the hero having being deceived into doing so. Afterwards, he is tasked by the Spirits to deliver the people.
The pathways to different mountains must be unlocked by beating dungeons.

I'd say give the hero the power to fly someway through maybe?

Also, in a fit of rage upon learning of the release of the flood, Ganon creates a giant sea monster before his power is sealed away that you must destroy otherwise it would wreak havoc on the people.

Topcatyo

In the end, the hero isn't completely successful and, among the tons of people that die in the flood, his family dies too, as well as the plucky sidekick or whatever that you occasionally see throughout the game.
Heartstrings = pulled

Topcatyo

Also, the hero dies in a last ditch effort to seal Ganon away forever by plunging the Master Sword into the stone that you find under the castle.
