Chuck
Eureka
Heroes
Stargate Atlantis
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles

Those are the one I've seen all up to date (on your list) though Ive seen episodes of most of them.
Suggestions:

Fringe
Sci-fi action/crime/mystery, probably one of my favorite shows
FBI agent enters a special division, recruits a genius boy and his mentally unstable father who worked on fringe science to solve strange murders and events called the Pattern. I highly recommend this one!

Charlie Jade
Sci-fi action/mystery
Private eye in a dim future gets caught in an explosion that sends him to another version of the Earth. Leads him to investigate a way back uncovering vast secrets of a huge mega corporation trying to steal water resources from the other worlds. (Too bad it was canceled after the first season :()

Sanctuary
Sci-fi action/drama
Kid who doesn't think hes going anywhere in life is invited to join a secret organization that tracks and studies abnormals (ie people with powers or rare animals).

I didn't see Dr.Who but I would suggest them. Watching the 1960's ones are more hilarious than anything though.

Also, I totally agree on Torchwood, its pretty ridiculous.

Quote from: Franklin G. Hamilton;1589228I've seen a few episodes of Fringe, but it never really appealed to me. Which is weird, because I like pretty much everything else JJ Abrams has done.
Depends on the episodes you saw, though most of them I find are quite good, especially when you get into the second half of the season.

QuoteI saw an ad for Dr Who on CBC once, at it looked just as horrible as Torchwood (infact I almost used Dr Who as my example before settling on the latter)
I can assure you Torchwood is many times more horrible than Dr Who.
Its one of those shows that tries to be everything at once and fails at it all.

I personally like Supernatural, it's like about the whole demons thing but more from an urban legend kind of approach, specially the first 2 seasons. I specially like the diversity of the show, one episode can be very detectivy while another can be very action based. Also great soundtracks, stuff like CCR, ACDC and Kansas

Also i know you said no cartoons but Venture Bros. is a must see show if you ask me. Specially considering it's pretty much made for our generation with all '80's and '90's references.

Oh and i don't know how you feel about English shows but i really liked Extras. It's with that dude from the Office Uk and he plays an extra in various movies. It has loads of cameo's and it's overall hilarious. Perhaps the most legendary scene is:
[u2]Fg_cwI1Xj4M[/u2]

This is my favorite episode though:
[u2]Y9T5cxnowyA[/u2]
_pirate_butchcavities (20:29:15): FUCK CLOCKS _pirate_

Poltergeist

Mad Men (I think it's my favorite show currently running)
Deadwood (It's by the John from Cincinnati guys)
In Treatment
Lie to Me

I can't quite understand why you wouldn't give any anime a chance. There's actually well drawn, written, and voiced animes out there like Cowboy Bebop.

Poltergeist

I have to agree with Triangle; it's not so much anime I dislike as the entire association that it has.

that in mind, Triangle, I would actually reccomend watching the show Paranoia Agent. It's amazingly well-written and is only thirteen episodes long. On top of that, I would say it's the least anime-y anime I've ever seen. It's a fantasy about a series of violent assualts by a young teenager on a group of random people, and how the assualts actually benifit the lives of the victims, and the unravelling mental stability of the police on the case. To date its the only anime I've seen that relies heavily on symbolism, fuck, one of the overlying themes of the show is mocking cutesy anime shit

Twin Peaks is cool, watch that

british comedy:
Monty Python (durrrr)
the Fast Show
Little Britain (hit or miss)
Blackadder
Red Dwarf

sci fi:
original battlestar galactica (haven't watched this yet but i hear good things)
V (the old miniseries, supposedly there's gonna be a new series)
Star trek (this is hard to swallow, you probably don't like it)

movies > tv though
BAN EVERYBODY

I have heard a lot of great things about Firefly, stuff like being the EarthBound of TV series (if you know what I mean) and other weeping, but still haven't seen a single detail of it.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann was awesome too, but the second season was miserable and disappointing shit compared to the badassery on the first season.

That point made, I don't want this thread to turn into an anime one so, moving on...

Also I still want to see the latest seasons of Scrubs, I kind missed a lot of the new stuff.

Also also, I really want to see My Name is Earl as I have seen just like one or two episodes
