When I was like 7 there was a girl in my class who was dying of cancer who really wanted to go to Disneyland in Florida so the school had a charity event and all our parents gave money so that her and her family could fly to America for two weeks in Orlando.

Its a nice story until you get to the part where she is actually still alive today. 13 years on, shes clear of cancer and living her life. I kind of feel like I'm owed some money.

I appreciate the sadness of this dying girl/pixar situation, but I'm confused as to why this one sad thing among the millions of sad things that there are is the one that makes the clockcrew, as a whole, tear up and cry, whereas everything else gets nothing but contempt.

It's a dying kid not a fucking 80 year old film critic.

What's the difference? People get all sad over a kid dying, but they wouldn't give two shits about somebody older dying if they didn't know that person. Sure, it's sad, but age shouldn't be something that moves us emotionally.

You could argue that she wasn't able to live a life like most people, or that she wasn't able to experience life. However, I find that argument a little ridiculous, because as soon as you die it doesn't even matter anymore. We don't live very long anyway, and even a 100 year old could have the chance of not experiencing much from life as well.

Life just sucks, period.
