Anyone like? Whether it be trad folk, celtic rock, celtic punk, celtic metal, I think there's a celtic version of every musical genre. An ancient style of music that is increasingly being revived by new aged bands.

I think my favourite band right now is Enter The Haggis because they fuse so many genres together such as progressive metal, blue grass, jazz, traditional irish, alternative rock. They even have some comedy songs. They're really fun live and involved with their community.  And the drummer is from my crappy old town which I find pretty cool.  There not very well known, their biggest gig was on Regis and Kelly. You Canadians might have seen them on Canada A.M if you're up early.

If you're knowledgeable of traditional songs they've done some really interesting and upbeat renditions like Lanigan's Ball. Minstrel Boy, Star of the County Down.  They stay away from popular ones like Whiskey in the Jar, Fields of Athenry, Black Velvet Band.

Some of you might say that they're a "Flogging Molly" or "Dropkick Murphys" rip-off because they are the most popular celtic bands, but celtic rock is no longer a gimmick and is a growing genre in both bands and popularity.

So if you've heard a celtic band or song that you like, talk about it here.

I like celtic music. My father used to be part of a band that played celtic music (although I don't remember it too well). Celtic bands I like include Solas, Afro Celt Sounsystem, the aforementioned Dropkick Murphys.

Clannad, bitches

also Fairport Convention, The Pentangle, Steeleye Span, The Pogues, Gryphon, Enya, Laura McKennitt, The Cranberries

Oh I forgot about the Cranberries, I like them too.

I like more traditional bands like Gaelic Storm and Great Big Sea, although Great Big Sea is more traditional Newfoundland music but it's still technically celtic.

Clannad I & II are Celtic/Irish folk de-luxe.

Almost makes me forget how much they went down to crap during the 80s...

The Waterboys are the classic rock of celtic rock.  I think almost all celtic rock bands were inspired by the Waterboys or bands that were.

my girlfriend also plays the bagpipes and dances both highland and step. in fact she works two jobs, one playing the pipes for my provinces lieutenant governor every morning and two dancing in a celtic show 3 nights a week.

I'm a big fan of Celtic music.  I found this band called Forann once when I was looking for Celtic music for my Flash "Leek Clock Loves Walks" and I ended up using one of their songs in it.  They were a modern band that makes traditional Celtic stuff.  I tried finding them again recently but I can't find their website or any trace of them anywhere, really.
