I don't think there's a thread in here about this game yet so I decided to make one, I've been looking forward to this game for quite sometime, since before the art style was changed to the current cel-shaded version.

The game is a FPS that features RPG styled class selection, quests, leveling, and equipment. there are 4 classes to choose from each with their own unique abilities and backstory.

QuoteBorderlands™ sends up to four co-op players to the harsh frontier planet Pandora in search of a mysterious Alien Vault legend. Featuring a unique First Person Roleplaying Shooter gameplay, you'll customize your character as you explore and battle enemies in frantic FPS combat. And what would a Roleplaying Shooter be without loot?

Borderlands'™ groundbreaking content generation system creates a near-endless variety of weapon and items to customize your character! Players can join and leave other players' games at any time, or choose to face the challenges of Borderlands™ alone. All these features combine with a deep, rich fiction and a bold art style to create a breathtaking experience that challenges the conventions of modern shooters

The game's map system also follows a randomisation pattern much like that of the Diablo series, which will be interesting to see within a FPS environment. As well as a random weapon generation system also much like the Rare item drops in Diablo.

The game is set for release on Xbox360, PS3, and PC on the 23rd of October this year, and I will definately be getting this.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the gameplay is mainly centered around 4-player drop-in-drop-out co-op with some versus gameplay (though there's not much info on the versus yet)

Yeah I wanted this game since I heard about it. The new character designs are kinda lame but everything else looks awesome. This game is basically my two favorite genres in one so I'm hella looking forward to it.

Marlin Clock

I'm thinking about it. I don't have a lot of money so if I got it it'd probably be the last game I buy for a while.

Poltergeist

I've been looking forward to this for a while now, though the whole million + guns things worries me.

BunnyClock

Nothing too new or interesting

It almost looks a little on the generic side but I've got high hopes for this. As with all RPG's it better have an engrossing plot that sucks me in. Whats an RPG without a good story?

Fable II thats what. God I fucking hate that game.

Jeff Gerstman from Giantbomb was raving about this after E3 so yeah, just gonna point that out. If there was ever an opinion to trust out there, its his.

Steve

reminds me of Crackdown.
By the same developers, right?

Hey, it's this thread.

anyway, got Borderlands, installed it, patched it up, and ran it, only to get a black screen.

At first, i thought my system wasn't up to snuff, seeing as how i got a Radeon 3200HD card, but everything else is fine (lotsa ram and tons of giggawattz). However, after watching somone run the game, i saw that it automatically "optimized" the game by running at 800*600. Then i realized that my computer was little bitch when it didn't run games at it's "desired" resolution type of 1280*800 Landscape (i had to run Darkest of Days in a window because of this).

So, in other words, i have to find a way to make Borderlands run in a window so i can tweak the resolution without making my computer throw a hissyfit and forcing me to shut it down.

EDIT:

got it to run. It involves me going in and manually setting the resolution area via Catalyst Control. Kinda stupid of you ask me, but hey, Shootan and Lootan fun! YEAH!

The game has no story. I mean tech there is one, but it's terrible IE; kill raider; move on to next raider. The game is pretty fun though, basically a Dungeon Loot FPS... but it's fairly short.

Topcatyo

Been playing it since day one and it's amazing.  Tons of fun.
