We've only got till 2015 before we need hovercars and Moving holographic images of sharks.

Not to mention other hovering objects and TV's that watch 20 channels at one time, or even phones that you can wear over your face.

I don't even see any self-drying electrical clothing.

There should be robots fighting each other and taking each others powers by now in eight fun and colourful stages.

Silly Putty Clock

At least we have augmented reality.

Quote from: Golden Clock;1719234Imagine having a system that makes objects hover and then the power going out

there goes your LCD
I imagine this would require some kind of magnets with reversed polarisation or something. atleast something that doesnt require electricity

maybe I already have but just keeping it for myself

they will take it away and hide it for the sake of mankind not progressing in any way so they can keep controlling the masses!

Problem is today we hardly have any real innovation.

We have progress sure, but during the middle ages we had huge progress. We had over 500 versions of plows, swords, shields, ballistas, bows and crossbows.
Did they really push technology forward? No.
But they were progression from former selfs.

Do mobile phones that carry 2gb more memory, process HD or hold 2MB better camera options progress humanity? No. They progress telephones, but they are not innovative.

I can only hope we do not get stuck in the bog of abusive capitalism and stagnate as a species.

EDIT: Before piratecock or caddilacock comments on it, Yes. I am drunk. So pardon the spelling mistakes.
Thank you.

you are an alcoholic propaganda

We may not see them all that quickly, because Back to the Future II is at least 2 tangents deep from the base timeline. Allow me to explain.

In Back to the Future I, Marty's changes to the timeline visibly alter the lives of his parents, Biff, Old Man Peabody, and Doc Brown. In addition to these changes, his interference also causes the invention of the skateboard and rock'n'roll, things which exist in what we assumed to be the base timeline. While the skateboard may be a bit less cut and dry, we know that Marty was the inspiration for Chuck Berry. Also, he gives Goldie Wilson the idea of running for mayor.

I suggest that the first time-travel experience of Marty's that we witness is actually in a tangent created by a previous Marty from an earlier timeline. Perhaps it is even several timelines deep, during which Marty slowly developed skateboarding and rock'n'roll to the point it is at today. At any rate, we have a clear indicator of his previous influence on the timeline. Given the year he is sent back to, he may even be responsible for the social changes that took place in the 60s.

At any rate, the point is that we are an indeterminate number of tangents away from the 2015 shown in Back to the Future II. Given Marty's influence on skateboarding, this is probably a particularly heavy setback for hoverboards.

On a side note, if the changes Marty made had an impact on technology then the flying car required to accidentally arrive in 1885 might not be immediately available to the timeline that initially created time travel. This is lucky, because without the hoverboard that accompanied that technological advancement it would not have been possible for Doc and Clara to escape from the train or create the second time machine.

Due to melting polarcaps I suggest gill implantory surgery would be nice. Also , hovering objects are overrated. What good is hovering?
