Don't panic. Sony should have it fixed in a day or two. Might want to stay off your PS3s until then, though. I hear it's been corrupting save files in some cases.

Some people are saying it's a glitch in the PS3 clock; that there's something hard coded that says 2010 is leap year and today is the 29th of Feb when it isn't.

Anyway, just a heads up to hopefully save a couple of people from losing data or thinking their PS3 just died on them.

Huh, weird, my clock is like 10 minutes fast but it says March 1st, not Feb. 29th.

Just to be sure, I'll turn it off for the night.

That explains why my PS3 crapped out on me then.

EDIT: So apparently this deletes trophies and possibly corrupts save data of games you try to play and deletes DLC, and it even effects offline PS3s

Seems the bug is only affecting the old "fat" PS3 models. The PS3 Slim is unaffected by this glitch and is safe to use. Luckily I have a PS3 Slim.
They say they are working to get the fat PS3's fixed within 24 hours, don't use them until they're fixed.

Phew, I was a bit worried everything was screwing up. Though I'm a bit intrigued to download the mystery EA Demo that keeps appearing under my "games" section

No, it effects offline PS3s too. It's a bug with the ps3 clock, not an online thing.

Doesn't matter though, because it's already fixed.
