Also I felt that Gen III had worse designs than Gen IV. Torchic was the only one of the starters I liked. Turtwig was the first grass starter I really liked, but Treeko was the ugliest of any starter, and I don't like Mudkip because if I did I would feel like a memefag.

Are you just talking about starters? Because outside of that I loved a lot of the designs from III.

Also Chikorita is my favorite, even though Bayleef is lame

I've always had this idea for two legendaries. The games would be set in a large island archipellago, with the two legendaries being a sperm whale and a giant squid who have fought for centuries under the depths, only to be brought out by Team Whateverwe'recallingthegangstersthistime.

Whale would be Water/Dragon cause I feel like it. Let's say maybe it can fly like the Wind Fish or something?

Squid would be Water/Dark obviously.

I'd like a game where you get a pretty common pokemon as a starter, the team rocket or whatever bad guys are much more aggressive, the story line leaves you as more of an average joe, and you couldn't catch ANY of the legendaries in the game. They're a hardcore fight that requires all the skill possible to beat, but you're left with a pokedex entry. If you want them you have to get their gimped ass in an event.

I had an idea for a non-traditional group of starter evos revolving around rock/flying/fighting type weaknessess.

Every starter would start out normal, as to allow normal attacks to effect every starter.

First evolutions are (names made up by me)

Phageria:Normal-Virus pokemon, looks like a bacteriophage(thus the name) except is about three feet tall. White except for a purple protein case at its top. Learns Leech Life and Rock Throw

Fledge:Normal:Fledgling pokemon(yeah my naiming's a little lazy), looks like a chick with white down plumage and grey wings. Learns Gust and Aerial Ace.

Blancanol-Normal: Lizard pokemon akin to an anole, it is white except for a red dewlap(sort of a frill under the jaw). Learns Break Break.

Second evolutions:

Prokarian-Rock:Looks like an E. Coli bacterium, except brown. It has cillia all around its body which allow it to move around even with its rock-hard cell wall. Learns Rollout, Rock Slide, and Recover.

Carrioptera-Flying(there's really no reason for there not to be a pure flying type): Vulture pokemon(name is a pun on carrion and the suffix optera, which means wing) Black with a pink head, basically like a stereotypical vulture. It can learn the moves Bite, Chatter and Air Slash before evolving

Kinechro-Fighting: Upright lizard, still retains anole characteristics. Has strong hind legs, so learns double kick, rolling kick and jump kick here.(name combination of Kinetics i.e. motion and part of the anole's family)

Third evolutions:

Psyeukar-Rock/Psychic: Looks like a giant eukaryotic cell that can levitate with a glowing purple nucleus. Learns Psybeam on evolution, Psychic, Stone Edge, and Rock Wrecker.

Aviarus-Flying/Dark: Looks like a California Condor, almost completely dark save a bright pink head. Learns Crunch, Dark Pulse, Sky Attack, and Brave Bird.

Basilica-Fighting/Water: looks like a Basilisk Lizard(the ones that walk on water). Learns Aqua Tail, Hi Jump Kick, Hydro Cannon and Superpower.
