This thread just makes me wish Textbook would come back. She'd be totally legal now.

This was before my time, but from what I can gather is during the late days of old cc.cc he was given mod status. Like Bit, he made a lot of dumb decisions and banned people he didn't like. This got him stripped of his status and eventually banned after much, MUCH whining. After that he went on to become the HNIC for Lock Legion, which lead to a "war" and gave way for more shitty knockoff groups.

Again, I wasn't around for this and my CC lore has gotten rusty over the years, so if someone could clear this up that would be great.

EDIT: Revisions made. Thanks, Slurpee.

The Clock Crew is filled with politicians who have misused their powers.

How have none of us made a political thriller yet?

no no no no no no no no, oh my gosh.

banana joined the lock legion in early to mid 2003, .cc going down was in early august of the same year. the two events were spaced fairly far apart and had nothing to do with each other.

banana'd been vying for a mod position for a long time, and when he finally got it (he was one of four completely extraneous moderators for the video game forum), he lost it without doing much of anything. the story holds he bragged to zeffy about it over AIM, because zeffy had said he wouldn't get the position, then zef passed it on and banana was hilariously returned to being a regular member after holding the mod position for like a week or something.

he made a drama thread and then joined the lock legion and blah blah blah
but he didn't have a bit-style reign of terror, he just got demodded because of politics, and was angry, and everybody thought it was funny so he became a "villain", which I think started with bananabeard.

it's interesting that, as time passes, previously "important" events are reduced to a fraction of our overall history, and the ones that are closer together get more and more blurred.
part of the reason we recall bit so negatively is that at the time, his reign, by the end of it, had taken up roughly half of the clock crew's total history. it seemed nightmarishly long. now it's just an unfortunate footnote, and the people who were there have to remind eachother of what exactly went down.
I look forward to our perception of time decompressing further as we continue to linger like a stale fart, until it's just one joyous chaotic memory.

"Son I used to be a member of this thing called the 'Clock Crew'."

"Anything interesting happen in the Clock Crew, dad?"

"Fuck no son, just a bunch of dudes jerkin off on the Internet is what they were."

BoltClock

It gives me this weird feeling knowing that I joined cc.net shortly after Clock Day 2005, spent most of my time lurking, somehow missed on all this bitshit, yet the following year could make a movie in which he was the antagonist with a reference to that prank call he flipped out about.

It gives me this other weird feeling I read through this whole thread seriously. Gee am I still a Clock?

Remember how I joined with a horrible username and made shitty RupeeClock-es

HeinekenClock

I joined with a horrible username and made movies that were basically copies of what RupeeClock made because I thought that was what the Clock Crew was about.

Like two weeks after I joined BitClock made me an official Clock because he liked what I was all about. Then I think Leek or someone else that didn't have shit for brains made me a clockfriend again because what the fuck Bit. I remember talking to him once or twice via PM and he seemed real nice but I was fourteen and almost literally dumb as dirt.

Lump Clock

Man, this thread has been fun to read so far. So much relevant information pertaining to the CC history. I remember the Bit thing. I think I joined on the tail end of that. I specifically remember being hazed by Corpsey when I first joined, and golden as well.

This thread is golden. I hope it goes on for longer so I can read more. It's like listening to a story from your grandpa, that's how found of this thread I am. My grandpa told some damn good stories when I was little. Damn good.

Lump Clock

This was literally back in the day, in 2005. It's been six years, people change, and usually for the better. Like you, Corpsey. You're a better man, at least for the CC.

BoltClock

Must be from all those ground corpses.

Maybe I'm just not doing as good a job at it as I thought.

What I can remember of it, it wasn't really hazing. You were acting just south of normal like Golden would to throw people off guard. As long as the people you targeted weren't complete idiots they just went along.

You just doing it like I taught you to do. Except maybe a little bit nicer.

Do you remember when we had a sort of mentorship program? I can't remember how official it was but people would get assigned newbies and were supposed to sort of teach them tutorials on Flash or give them drawing assignments and such. I had this kid called Flashstash who ended up kind of hating me because I guess I didn't give him advice frequently enough. Man I wonder if I can still find his Deviantart profile... Some high-quality poetry on that thing.

BoomStick Clock

now, by high quality do you mean hilariously bad quality?

Ha, yes. But I just found his profile and he's deleted all his old stuff and mostly has black and white photography now. :\
