:siren: This is not a production thread, it's an interest check. :siren:
Do not request parts, do not ask for dimensions, do not start animating.

Okay here's the idea: instead of all animating to different chunks of a piece of music, we animate to an audio track I made based on a youtube montage of bad video game voice acting and a handful of songs and movie scores and shit. You can hear the track I cooked up below.

[FLASH=http://files.myfrogbag.com/8xu8snn0tggygnz/potcc.swf]height=360 width=640[/FLASH]
(I'm open to suggestions on changes- I still have the non-compiled Audacity file. Or you could make an entirely new, better track, that would serve the same purpose. No, seriously, feel free; I have no pride.)

It's loosely divided into 50 parts- obviously I don't expect 50 different collaborators, but I was thinking we could make all the pieces available separately and everybody would be free to grab multiple parts and tie them together or not tie them together however they want.

It would not be a video game collab- the source audio is supposed to be incidental. (I'm considering removing the Resident Evil, Zelda and Megaman clips because they're distractingly associated with the source material.) The feel I'd like to go for is an overblown and underacted version of big budget tv spots and movie trailers, followed by some manner of yet-to-be-determined anticlimax (possibly mimicking Knottsberry's Scandal! Part 4).

So, think about it. Maybe you want to animate some senseless helicopter explosions, or gunfights, or SteakClock battling Tropzilla in a ravaged city. Maybe part 33 really reminds you of Dodger and you have a fat joke to make, or part 37 sounds so much like a robot you just have to see Radiotube in there. I'd like to see some consistency with the characters- not have SBC in 5 completely disparate roles, so if the collab goes into production, it'd be cool if everybody said what they were planning to do when they request parts. But consistency would also be second to raw expression. Above all I just want it to be stupid- just stupid in a good way.
I'm open to somebody producing a better audio track than mine, or the framing devices (the scenes that open and close the collab, preloader, etc.) but if not, I can handle it.

If there isn't enough interest I am not going to pursue this; it'll just go on the backburner with a thousand other SlurpeeClock Productions.

So.
Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas, or if you would be open to volunteer for the framing devices or participating should it go into production. <3

I'd be up for it, but it would be nice if the music was a bit quieter.

VCRClock

Heck yes.

I like what I hear and the parts are so short even I might animate one. :o
<Marlin Clock> This thread seems proof positive that divisiveness at any level is usually bad for the Clock Crew.
<PhantomCatClock> are we talking about the same clock crew

I'd do a few of these, fo' sho'. I know we're not supposed to request parts, but I totes got my eye on at least one.

Sinister Clock

Totally up for this but the music doesn't really fit well and is way too loud.

Also there should be an extra part at the end, something like, "now on episode three of the clock crew" then just like some boring half second clip or something then a load of credits should just roll for like 5 minutes.

I like this idea.

Also, I vote we use the Dexter music they play during the "previously on" segments.

You know, this song.

If we're allowed to use our own music you better goddamn believe I'm gonna use this.

AnkhClock

I like the music, also these pieces are short enough that I'd totally do one or do.

This would definitely be awesome if

1) someone actually voiced the "Previously on The Clock Crew" in that voice

2)the music was a bit more primetime cable tv

but I suppose that'd all be considered since this is all theoretical

edit: just got the weirdest déjà vu... did you ever post this thread before?

All the voices come from this one youtube video that's been posted before, so probably that.

Okay, I'm a little tired for this, so this will be a low content post, but I don't want to leave you guys hanging.

I'll recut the music when I have a minute to remove the parts I talked about (sorry if anybody wanted them but they've really started to bug the crap out of me) and space out the cuts a little better. I'll produce a couple alternate soundtracks, one with quieter music, and we can have a discussion/vote about which we like best (feel free to take a crack at it as well, if you want. I'm not very experienced with sound mixing tbqh.), and, once that's all squared away, I'll launch the collab in a new thread.

Don't fret, I'll try to move it all along at a reasonable clip.

And yes, the ending part that Sinister mentioned is definitely part of the plan.
