first of all read these defenitions

urticaria
anaphylaxis

welp folks it all started friday when i woke up with a couple of (what i thought were) spider bites.    small, itchy bumps on my hip and back.  i woke up again saturday with bigger splotches, and it continued to grow until about 2/3 of my  body was covered

i was taken to the ER at about 2 am monday morning where i began having trouble breathing:  my trachea was constricting, closing itself and suffocating me.    i was injected with adrenaline, steroids, and diphenhydramine (anti-histamine), then hooked up to an IV.  After struggling a bit more it went away and i was free to go home with a new prescription for prednisone (4mg).    i was fine all through tuesday, until my throat started feeling really sore, and i was experiencing some really irritating pressure in my face/behind my eyes.  the hives came back as well, but i decided to try and ignore them and sleep (which i did with some success).

so then, wednesday, i decided to take a trip to my buddy's house.  the hives were coming back worse than ever, my face was completely swollen.  my body was just one huge itchy, burning sore.   I began having trouble breathing again, so I was rushed to the ER where they put me in the more urgent section as opposed to monday's trip, where i just got a normal room.  i got all shot up again and put back on the IV.  My 4-mg steroid prescription was bumped to 60mg daily, and they also gave me an Epi-Pen,  which is a little syringe-type contraption that i can stab into my leg and inject adrenaline into myself should my windpipe try to close itself again.  it should hopefully buy me enough time to get to the ER without suffocating to death :\

so, i just figured i'd share all that with you in case i do suffocate.   i know many people here don't know who i am or really care if i die, but at least this is an interesting discussion piece.

enjoy the hospital pictures

Maybe you're allergic to yourself.

I just tried too, but I have this wierd biological reflex that prevented me from doing so.

How're you anyway?

as someone who uses drugs recreationally quite often, i can assure you that its pretty hard to enjoy the effects of the diphenhydramine when you're choking on your own trachea
