It's that time again - Clock Day, August 15th,  is just around the corner!

It's about time you started your Clock Day projects if you haven't already. The prizes (sponsored by Newgrounds) are very generous this year, as in previous years:

1st: $500 + t-shirt and NG stickers
2nd: $250 + t-shirt and NG stickers
3rd: $250 + t-shirt and NG stickers
4th: $250 + t-shirt and NG stickers
5th: $250 + t-shirt and NG stickers
6th-10th: t-shirt and NG stickers

A selection of winners will be chosen by Clock Crew elders and staff, and Tom Fulp will have the final say, as in previous years (though there has never been conflict over our choices).

All Clocks who submit an animation on this day will receive a participation award on the BBS.

Clock Day Preloader Contest

We're also looking for an official Clock Day preloader! Today marks the start of our Clockday 08 Preloader contest.

Keep in mind, the preloader ought to be appropriate for all movies - i.e., it should be easy to apply to a flash of any width/height; it shouldn't have a massive file size; it shouldn't have so much animation that someone whose movie is at 13 fps will not see the same preloader as someone whose movie is at 30...

The winner's preloader will be distrubuted for all clocks to use on Clock Day, and the creator will also receive a free Clock Crew email account (powered by gmail), e.g. olskoo@clockcrew.cc (olskoo@clockcrew.cc) (you could also just forward mail from that address to an existing email account of yours).

To enter the contest, post a preview (swf) and the actual fla (host it in the cc file library) in this thread. The deadline is July 20th.

The winner will be chosen by popular vote.
