Quote from: Flossy Boy;1453990I just got my first posse member! A sassy super mutant named Fawkes, who wields a gatling laser. Also, I retract my statement about power armor, as I now have Tesla Armor and LOVE it.
Woah. So there's more than one friendly muty? Where is he? All I ever found was Uncle Leo.
Quote from: Mikuru Asahina;1454429Running around with dogmeat following you is brilliant, also Nuka-Grenades are much better than the Fatman.
Yeah, but he does make throwing grenades hard because if you throw one he'll still go charging at that enemy and get hit by it. Also I left him in megaton and he teleported to Vault 101 and now I can't find him.
Quote from: Mikuru Asahina;1454502Same thing happened to me, ended up finding him near the Armory.

He also visit's the saloon, and the Doc's place often so check there.
You gotta try the water processing plant, that's where he is all day.

nu-uh :(

and I'm pretty sure I didn't kill him

Common bug; NPC's have a habit of teleporting several miles underground and never being seen again. Happens fairly often to Walter, apparently.

I usually find him at Montiary's though.

Marlin Clock

I thought that bug was only with the PC version :l I can hear him though, wouldn't I not be able to hear him if he was underground?

Or were you not talking about dogmeat?

Bigglesnoots

We're talking about Walter, actually.

but apparently every npc teleports around and that sucks because I want to know what I get from Walter

You don't really get anything but experience. You can sell him scrap metal for money and xp afterwords, which is a good deal.

I've been playing the game now since I just got it, so let's have the topic resume because now I can fit in!

Anyway, the People's Republic blah blah blah radio station is hilarious.  I had to pause the game to burst into laughter when she said "Bling our boys home before it's too rate."

Also, I've encountered a bug.  On my compass (in the lower-left), there's a red enemy bar to the right of the center that is stuck there permanently and doesn't show any other person indications on it, so I can't see where an enemy nearby is.  Arrows and quest markers still show up, but the people markers don't.

Also, I've had that NPC teleport glitch occur several times as well.  I was fighting the queen ant when, all of a sudden, she teleported into my face and scared the shit out of me.
Also, I could've gotten Jericho as a party member had I not been such a good two-shoes (and still am).

TequilaClock

So let me get this clear.

Its a First and Second person shooter with optional RPG elements?

It's a First Person Shooter with the option of making it a horribly animated Third Person shooter with melee fighting mechanics and mandatory RPG elements and open-world gameplay.

TequilaClock

Well. That is so fucked up that I could love it.

Topcatyo

My brother was so addicted to it when we got it (this week) that he played it almost nonstop for two days, only stopping because he's currently visiting his girlfriend in Delaware for a week.
I swear to God it was like watching a Korean kid play Starcraft for his first time.

Marlin Clock

Yeah, it seems a little unfair that the goody-two shoes support characters can't be found unless you stick to the main story.

Also: Wazer Wifle=greatest gun ever.

Slurpee

Been playing this. I'm at level 8 without even beginning to attempt to find my father. I been doing sidequests for that daffy bitch in the supply store in megaton.

And then it's like, "help me kill these ants, help me find my vampire brother, I'm thirsty gimme some water bring me some scrap metal bring me some sugar bombs I'm tired my legs hurt are we there yet wah wah wahhh"

and it's like
alright

but only because I'm a positive force in this post-apocalyptic wasteland
not because I like you

shishkebab is fricking great

Got it for Christmas, beat it earlier tonight and have proceeded to mod the fuck out of it. Spoilers ahead.

Lesse:

Advanced combat mod: a mod that makes combat more realistic, but works both ways i e it affects YOU as well as your enemies. Head injuries now cause your enemy to be very inaccurate with their fire, I think arm injuries do too. Torso injuries cause them to stumble while walking. Leg injuries cause your opponent to move at %50 speed which is very useful when you're retreating or getting attacked by very fast opponents like those deathclaws or whatever they're called.

Game ending mod: lets you play on after you've beaten the main quest. You can also go back to vault 101. Nothing really there though.

Potomac river is now clean

Megaton house expansion: adds an entire new floor to your house with some cool shit added in, a bunch of ammo and stuff is in there

New power armor: found this mod for hellfire power armor, is a bit stronger than normal power armor and gives better bonuses

Level cap removed: removes level cap and lets you level past 20

Skills past 100: lets you raise your skills past 100 which is pretty much an essential mod if you get the one above

perks mod: adds 40 new perks, some of them are pretty cool

1911 pistol: I have a hard-on for 1911s so I found a mod that adds one, Moira sells them in Megaton

Increased enemy spawns: this one is nuts, basically whenever you would normally run into any given group of enemies, there's simply more of them. Makes the game feel a bit more realistic but also makes it more difficult. I have been wandering around in the wastelands and run into a patrol of like 10-15 Enclave soldiers in full power armor with laser rifles and plasma rifles. Coupled with playing on very hard, it can get pretty intense.

If anyone wants help modding, PM me or something and I can help walk you through/ recommend some good mods.

yeah and check this shit out

This is actually pretty much exactly how it's been for me so far except I'm currently level 9.

Orangina Clock

I just used some cheats to make me level 500 with enclave power armor, nukes, and unkillable with infinite good karma.

Quote from: BluezombieClock;1516321Oh yeah, you\'re so right. I really don\'t know what to say! That\'s why I got four girls\' phone numbers yesterday, right?
PS: Also, 5 hours of intense frenching ftw

Well can you link to those mods here? I don't want to have to search around for them.

I'm level 18 and I haven't even talked to those people in Rivet City.

p.s. why doesn't the console open up for me? I press ` and have tried what was said in Bethesda's support but nothing works. :(
