When I had mine it didn't have that big power button on the left side, nor all these random holes everywhere

I do find it sorta strange that there's trains and cannons but link's still got to kill everyone with a sword. Maybe the bow will be replaced by a Winchester Repeater or something.

LotusClock

Y'know, after all the debate wether the train is a good thing or not, the more I think about it, the more Zelda games seem to be taking the Sonic path lately. You have a very succesful franchise that's been popular for a few decades, with a solid concept and game engine, and there's a point where innovation on the game engine reaches its peak.

The game franchise is still popular, so keep producing games, but since they can't really innovate any more, they pretty much go with the same game engine, and throw in a gimmick to make it a different experience, wether it's a talking boat, werewolf stages, riding a train or just running around with a sword.

I dunno. I'm sure that game will be good, but I got a weird feel that long running popular franchises are each in turn starting to head toward stagnation.

YoYoClock

I think zelda will get crap if they continue to make ds games using these same graphics and engine and stuff, but I th9ink this will be good because, like all zelda games, regardless what what crazy method is used to travel between them, the dungeons will still be ridiculously fun.

# CPUs: The main CPU is an ARM processor clocked at 133 MHz.[35][36]
# RAM: 16 MB of RAM (four times more than previous models)[37]
# Storage: 256 MB of internal Flash memory[38] (Also has SD card expansion slot)

Perhaps now it will be powerful enough to emulate a GBA without a 2nd card slot?

I wouldnt be surprised, there is already a special card for it and no wonder someone was going to do something about the lack of Slot 2.

AHHHH WIND WAKER BEING COMPARED TO SONIC GAMES AHHHHHH

Asshatclock

The train isn't the thing that worries me, its that silly suit he's wearing.

EDIT:
Oh and I guess the fact that it looks identical to phantom hourglass is pretty lame.

I'd say that it doesn't count since it's technically a ported Gamecube game, but since the Wii is technically just Gamecube 1.2, whatever.

Flounderpa

The only think that I'm expecting is that the train can travel through time

Actually the gamecube version is a port of the wii version. only after it was in development for the wii did they announce it would be coming out for the gamecube as well.

Also, to everyone else, you do realize that Windwaker and Phantom Hourglass are not the only games in the zelda series with toon Link in them, right? Toon Zelda art style has been used in several games other than those two, so why is another Zelda game using the art style a problem? I think it's the only style that will work for the DS. Twilight Princess style would look horrible on the DS.

They re-created toon link in 2D.
They are now just re-using the same stuff instead of re-creating it.

The Zelda franchise is a lot harder to ruin than the Sonic franchise. With Sonic, fans expect the games to be fast paced all the time, since speed is what made Sonic's reputation. So if you add a gimmick that dares remove the speed even for a few stages, fans consider the game ruined.

Zelda, however, is based on locating and fighting your way through dungeons, full of monsters, puzzles and secret hidden stuff. So, as long as there's a fair amount of dungeons (eight per game is the expected average) that are fun, challenging and unique, the game will still be considered a Zelda game, no matter what wacky device got added to "make this game a unique experience".

the only one that was any good was link's awakening, phantom hourglass only held my interest for a couple of temples

once they announce a new one for wii, then i'll look forward to it

what was wrong with minish cap ?

DillClock

Quote from: Asshatclock;1554157what was wrong with minish cap ?

i liked the art style of that one, but same basic thing

run around, beat a few temples, fight the end boss, win the game

i'd really like to see a zelda game where they don't use the same old formula that they do every single time
i mean there's like 20 zelda games out now, and every single one is basically the same

it's time for something new

Topcatyo

I just realized something.
When I was playing Wind Waker I drew a picture of Links riding his sideburns, which were trains.
What the fuuuuuuuuck.
