Quote from: SnakeClock;1400315Admittedly, though, Dreamworks has been trying to put out ambitious works lately, like Kung-Fu Panda and Over the Hedge (Shark Tale was another attempt, though it failed). Maybe they just shit out these Shrek movies to pay for their more daring projects. I know that Kung-Fu Panda had far less popculture references than your average Shrek movie, which means they would have had to work more on the humour.

Rationalized like a pro.

That is a good point.
Although Kung Fu Panda didn't seem to be completely 100% focused on the humor.  It seemed to be more devoted to being just enjoyable to watch what played out and admiring the beauty of some of the scenes and effects.
Though it was still humorous.

But damn, congrats on making me not hate the idea of a new Shrek movie anymore.
Though I'll still sit in grumpy grumpiness at the commercials.

Well, that's part of Kung-Fu Panda's ultimate ingenuity; it explores the kung-fu genre from a 3D animated standpoint. Some humour is naturally expected for a movie with so many "funny animals", but it showed a lot of nerve for them to attempt what they did.

Well, we must still be cynical of consumerism.
