As you may or may not already know, Black Mesa Source is a fan mod for the source engine that aims to recreate the original Half-Life. The first official trailer has been released after several years of work:

can't wait, I've been following this one for a few months, it looks really good
Quote from: FLOUNDERINYOBUTT;1837615I think Kodiak is the only person on  this entire website who dislikes Slurpee. I still dont understand how  thats possible. He\'s so loveable and funny. Every guy wants to be his  friend and every girl wants to date him. Understandably Slurpee is not a  very happy person.

The game looks awesome. Like a lot of other people, I thought they gave up on it, but this really turned it around. It's going to be fun to play it in all modes, single, co-op, and multiplayer. I'm also glad that they made it not require CS:S, but any Source game.

That incredible, holy hell!
I'm amazed at how far this mod has come.  I figured they'd have given up long by now.

PowerGloveClock

we should have a big co-op game when this comes out

Considering how development on Episode 2 began in 2005 with a 2007 release date, while development on this project began in 2006 with a projected 2009 release date, it's pretty impressive that they've come so far in so little time. The length of the original Half-Life exceeds the length of Episode 2 by great deal.

DillClock

looks great, especially for a fan remake

this is the kind of quality you'd be expecting from valve themselfs

Wind-up Clock

Goddamn it to hell! When is this sucker going to come out!?

Also the voice-acting from the trailer didn't sound terrible (talking about Barney, that scientist was a sound clip from the first game, I think).

Fireman

Pretty snazzy stuff going on there.
They'd make a lot better time on it then Valve due to all the ideas being there.
They're essentially just making all the content again, but they're doing a pretty good job at it.

Games with planned sequels generally always end in a poor way.
