What the hell are you talking about. The small frame size we see in the papers are restrictions set by the papers themselves. I don't really think you have any idea what you are talking about. We aren't trying to make Garfield here.

Funny isn't something one can be taught.  I mean, a person can learn, but only by being exposed to funny things and wondering why it's so funny.
Also, while many comics prefer to have the three panel layout, it's not really the type of comic I do.  That's not to say one's better than the other, if both are pulled of well they can be funny, but if they're pulled off wrong, then, well, the result's obvious.  It's more up to the author and how they prefer to reach whatever joke they're intending to reach.

Any drama type comic you see in the paper is 2-3 times the length of the funnies anyway. And every now and then Garfield craps out a full page edition.
