Some friends and I had to make our own tiny server to play. It was a lot of fun.

It's pretty great, I've gotta say. Obviously unfinished but what's there so far is great.

They've actually been using the beta to make major improvements to gamelpay. When the beta first came out the way the guns handled you couldn't hit jack shit at longer range, even with the AK. Now with the way the game handles recoil it makes all the guns a lot more viable. I've been in the beta for only a a month but it's noticeably improved. The recent update must have had some sort of optimization patch, because my performance on my computer and load times got waaaay better. Plus they fixed the UMP so it can actually kill things.

They still need more maps and silencers. I hope they tie this together with the Steam Workshop to make it easy to download custom maps. I'm sure Valve knows that one of the major reasons CS was so popular was because of the custom map community.

Yeah the feel of the guns is already better than CS1.6 and CS:S in my opinion. SMG's and Shotguns actually feel viable this time around. Movement is also a lot less ridiculous as opposed to previous games. You can't abuse it like before. There's a noticeable delay between crouching and getting back up to full running speed, which is a good thing. The game runs like a champ on my laptop, as does everything else source.

I also like that there's an actual valve-supported gungame mode with matchmaking and all for when I want to take a quick break from Classic Competitive .

I kinda wish that community servers could have a bigger head count, though I understand why it's only 6 people, seeing that the enemy mobs aren't NPCs, but count as simulated players.

Also finally got to play MvM tonight, shit's a blast. It's not very hard, but it really is just plain and simple "go blow up some robots" fun.

Guys, if you want to play MvM don't use the Queue. Just go to the server browser, put "mvm_" into the map name, and hit refresh list. Then find a server with 4 or less players, no password lock, and a good ping (trust me, there are PLENTY). You'll be playing within a minute of loading up TF2


The queue system is completely pointless and there's no reason to use it unless you're using Mann Up mode. Also private servers can run the game at harder difficulty.

I downloaded games of steam like Team Fortress 2 and Blacklight: Retribution but they do not seem to open up well. Once I get to the menu it says "Error." and no matter what I click the whole game goes down. Please help me!

Today my server browser list went blank, which apparently happens in clusters. So, if it happens to you, go into your Steam folder (for me, C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/config) and either delete or rename both /Steam/config/masterserver2.vdf and /Steam/steamapps/YOURSTEAMUSERNAME/team fortress 2/platform/config/serverbrowser.vdf
