Well it's taken a long time to get together, but now everything is finally complete! Zombie Lincoln and I are proud to bring to the Clock Crew the new Saturday School sessions hosted via Livestream!

What is this exactly?
The Saturday School is a place where clocks from all different skill levels can come to learn tricks and techniques for making flash movies. Basically what happens is, one week before the session is scheduled to start, a thread is posted telling you guys to ask how to achieve any possible effect or animation technique. This will continue until the friday before and then we will decide which subject to focus on for Saturday.

Well what time will these classes be happening?[/b]
We will try to start promptly at 3:30 pm EST every Saturday starting on April 17th. If there needs to be a change in the schedule for some reason, we will try our best to let everyone know ahead of time.

Why are you doing this?[/b]
This is simply an attempt to better the Clock Crew and its members who want to learn how to animate. Also, it's the least I (Zen Micro Clock) could do for the Clock Crew after all of the years I've been here and the things I've been taught by the members.

So all you need to do is visit this little link here: Saturday School on Saturday and join in on the fun! You can also feel free to watch some Clock Crew movies on the player when we're not broadcasting yet. We really hope this will be a big success and that you guys will take some interest in it. Also, feel free to post any suggestions you have for topics for this week's session!

With much love,
Zen Micro Clock and Zombie Lincoln

sounds good! I have some secret techniques I could lend to the Clock Crew... as well as actionscript  for particle effects and such

EtchASketchClock

I'm pretty sure I can animate, I just lack the artistic ability. :3

I thought you weren't allowed to make intro threads anymore
Quote from: MafiaMettaurWhat the hell is with that shit you posted? You know what, I'm joining the Locks, just to stop stuff like you!
Quote from: polyhedronclockYou're a fucking clock, what else do you have?
To be fair, you don't have anything. Clocks are just machines that tick.

I'd love to help with this sometime if possible.

That's actually modeled off of old clock flashes I've seen. It's really easy and quick, which is great for quick working.

AC Slater

I'm glad to see you guys like the idea :)! Please post some things you possibly want to learn this Saturday so I and ZL (if you would want to host on Saturday as well) can start thinking on how to teach it to you.

Will we need web cams for this? Either way it sounds great! although there's nothing in particular I want to learn, it will be nice to see the tips and techniques you guys use to animate!

The only people who possibly need webcams will be the selected teachers (which still have yet to be decided) that will be hosting on the said evening. As of right now, I only know that ZL and I will be teaching, but I will talk to him about other teachers being chosen. For the most part though, livestream runs off of a desktop camera that we have downloaded onto our computers.

So what if I decide to join in and find I'm in way over my head?

BootClock

Would be cool to watch but I'm not getting up 5:30 on a sunday just for it. Still sitting down and watching these off air flashes, some great old ones.

I'll definitely put this one down on the list.

Hopefully we'll be able to record the sessions so you can go back and watch them through the on-demand feature, so no worries there! And if you have any other movies you'd like to see on there, just let me know and I'll try my best!

Hey guys! Don't forget that we will be going live in about 14 and a half hours! Suggestions are still welcome for focus of the session!

Topcatyo

Some people might still be wondering about how to achieve facial expressions with clocks in their flashes, or may want new ways to go about doing the effect. You could make the first one about that or something and that could transition into teaching people how to actually portray the emotion they're going for.
