yeah you'd think that, but it's actually a neutrally humorous response of tacit general solidarity. it respects the naturally elevated emotional levels in the aftermath of something like this, without politicizing things while people are in an uproar. it's saying, "hey, we're human, bitches. let's shake the sillies out over some guinness and keep the conversation flowing. we'll cover the heavy stuff after the dust settles."

I was going to major in English before I realized it was a terrible idea, but I never actually took any classes for it.
 
I read a lot, but mostly I'm an amateur writer, and the vocabulary is an attribute that arose from my desire to textually communicate with clarity and concision without sacrificing brevity. I write a lot, but I rewrite a lot more, and my vocabulary is something I strengthen, usually subconsciously, in order to improve my diction and phrasing. I have an unquenchable thirst to be understood.

I've spent hours ruminating on the effect not contracting "I'm" can have on verbal demeanor.
