Quote from: Bill S. Preston Esq.;1253201I prefer the first game much more over the second game.  The second game bugs me for some reason.

I think it's because the first game was more dark and noir in my opinion. It was more about hiding and popping out to shoot dudes instead of the running and gunning style of Max Payne 2. The reason for going on and killing everyone was better as well.

Yeah I'd really like a Max Payne 3 to come out, loved the first two games

I found the comic book narratives to be a lot more stupid bad in Max Payne 2.  In Max Payne 1, they were bad, but they were bad in a way that it made the game more enjoyable.

Quote from: TremcladClock;1251536Yeah, that's what I'd like to see, but screenwriters are too incompetent to do it, apparently. Super Mario Brothers, Silent Hill, Tomb Raider or the six million unnecessary and incoherent Resident Evil films, for instance.

I thought Silent Hill was pretty good. The plot was kind of lame but the set design and the way it was directed was really nice.

In Max Payne 1 the actor they used for Max was hilarious the faces he made like didn't match the scenes at all

Yeah, he felt more like Max Payne :(
Good thing they kept they kept Max's voice the same.
I think.  You never really know.

I don't know, I haven't played Max Payne 1 since it was released and I was like 11. Damn that game scared the crap out of me as a kid.

That's right, I wasn't at all disappointed that I went and saw it, because it was actually kind of scary and cool.

I lost Max Payne I when my harddrive crashed, and I still haven't completed II.
I is so much better though.

Quote from: joliet_jane;1253470I couldn't wait any more.  I bought Max Payne 2 for PS2.  If it looks like crap, I'll just have to deal with it.
It came in the mail a week ago and I like what I've played so far.  Jumping is the biggest improvement.

The PS2 version does include some of the asshole physics of the PC version.  Trash cans and tables fly around like they're on ice.  There is no reason for this, but it seems pretty cool.

I can't tell if Max Payne 2 is well-written or not.
Okay, so in "The Fall of Max Payne," Max literally falls 3 times in one night.

When he falls after the building explosion, he says "still a long way from the bottom," and we think this is figurative-- but no, it's literal again, because he's going to fall further down from where he is when he says that!

I don't know if this is brilliant or not. I mean, to go backwards and go from metaphorical meaning to literal meaning but still use both? I think that's pretty good! But it's still kinda goofy: "The fall of Max Payne, get it?!"

I never actually caught onto that.  Very interesting :)

That article is hilarious.

Cool, the more names attached, the realer it is.

Oh, and on top of all of that, the story occurs in the autumn, or the fall.

When will people learn that games and movies never fit well together?

Is like mixing peanut butter with fish sticks. They are both great but never together.

Hahaha, awesome :)
I've only ever noticed, like, one subtlety in a game ever.

Because Hollywood is stupid.

Was I the only one that was really disappointed by the ending to Max Payne 2?
I was really expecting Max to die!

I was too, but at least they can make another sequel with awesome bullet-time shitshooting.

I love all of those!  I know we're supposed to hate video game flashes that don't use original art, but the script makes up for it; it's funny as hell!

It doesn't look like it'll be finished, though. :( How can we know if Max will ever find the treasure???

Quote from: last cutscene of max payne 2The past is a gaping hole. Your only chance is to turn around and face it. But it's like kissing the lips of your dead love, the darkness waiting in the hole in her mouth.
We are willing to suffer, to die for the things we care about. For love. For the right choices.

Because of her, I had solved the case. My case. All of it. Who I am.

She was dead. The bullet in her head had come to the end of its slow-motion journey.
It is almost morning, waking up from the American dream.

Now like all my loves, she is mine forever. She has brought me here, to this moment of clarity, where time slows down and I choose to look back and see myself. And in that act of seeing, I am reborn.

I had a dream of my wife...
She was dead. But it was all right.
I don't know Blue
personally I think it had a better ending than No Country.
