Quote from: PropagandaClock;1442559I would.
There are no reason to have guns everywere, except they make your penis feel large.

Actually I enjoy shooting, and I like to keep it around in the unlikely, yet possible, event I would have to protect my home.

QuoteI've had times when I've tried to kill people due blind rage but I've failed due lack of tools to do so, I hjumped on a guys head, I hit one with a frying pan etc.

Seek help if the only thing stopping you from murdering is the lack of tools.

QuoteYou can check statistics, even though I doupt you have not heard them a thousand times already, there are no reasons what so ever to carry around guns or to have asmany guns as the USA has.
There is a reason you are fourth in the world at murders even though you're a western country.
My country of 9 million has 11 murders a year, yours of 300 million has over 12 000 GUN murders a year, not counting all other violent crimes related to the effects.
And I blame your faulty school and social security system for the lack of intelligence in the lower classes resulting in even more murders (40 000 due knife and tool weapons) etc.

I've already given reasons explaining this difference in the debate forum, and it isn't the presence of guns in this country.  As you may have heard, The UK has a ban on handguns, and the amount of knife violence is pretty equal to the amount of gun violence here.

And it isn't poor people either.

QuoteAll in all I would say that the second ammendment is shit.
I don't get how americans praise themselfs for a document that was modern for over 100 years ago. Thats like christian fundamentalists who let a 2000 year old book tell them how to think and live their lives.
Christ throw that shitty decleration out the window already and learn from europe as we in europe learned from you during your revolution.

TLDR

Obama won.
<3

Why should I?  It seems from your posting that you don't even trust yourself.

I'm not going to give up on what means our citizens have to protect themselves and their families.  Also, the government has proven its unwillingness to protect its own taxpayers, so we have no reason to trust those people.  We're on our own.

Just because you're the majority in the clock crew doesn't mean you need to act like dicks.
Quote from: MafiaMettaurWhat the hell is with that shit you posted? You know what, I'm joining the Locks, just to stop stuff like you!
Quote from: polyhedronclockYou're a fucking clock, what else do you have?
To be fair, you don't have anything. Clocks are just machines that tick.

YoYoClock

I'm not an american so this is only an approximation. It seems to me that because of the age group here, most of us (most) have only known bush as president since we've been old enough to care about politics. What with him being an utter fuckjob, it is probably quite an unbelievable relief for an american democrat that their country isn't run by this guy anymore. Besides, don't act like you wouldn't have been quite happy if mccain had won

Quote from: CadillacClock;1442763This is a thread about Barack Obama, so I guess I should do it here. You're not taking this very composedly, RomanCollarClock. Hopping into threads by supporters of Obama with feverish loathing hardly shows your stalwart behavior and only lessens your demeanor. Even more so, as a known white supremacist, I would think you would ignore these threads like the plague. You’re just setting yourself up for a debate and some ridicule.

McCain wanted to go out with a peaceful goodbye and some respectability. It is a shame his fellow supporters, and those who disapproved of Barack Obama, could not allow that to happen. This election has brought out the worst of Conservatives and Republican supporters. This isn’t your day, it’s ours, save face: accept humility and be humble.

Obama '08.

Yea, at least he didn't go out like Al Gore, have to respect him for that.

I've never advocated supremacy of one race over another, so I'm hardly a supremacist in any sense.  Furthermore, when I engaged into debate, you met me with insults and then told me I'm the one losing his cool.  What's with the double standard Cadillac?

QuoteThis isn’t your day, it’s ours, save face: accept humility and be humble.

Obama '08.

I don't think I've tried to make this point clear, but I will know.

You may think that you've won a tremendous victory because the man you support won office.  I've been there myself when Bush won office, both times, and I'm telling you right now that you're just going to be disappointed.  Obama will never deliver his promises anymore than any politician has delivered his promises since a very long time.  He is not a messiah or savior, and I truly believe that you hold him with such high regards because he simply supports your multicultural ideology; i.e. he is African.

Do any of you recall how fervently I defended Bush's ideas and actions?  In hindsight, I did so only because I believed President Bush to be our "protector," whatever you wish to call him.  I didn't support him because the evidence said he was doing the right thing; I supported him just because I had a romanticized view of him.  Now looking back, he really has hurt the nation, just as much as every president, Congress, etc. has before him.  Obama will be no different, and the loyalty and fervor you are giving this politician is no different than what I gave to Bush.

Four, maybe eight years from now all of you will be talking about how Obama wasn't all that great, and you all will be debating about who next will "save" America.  I can guarantee that.

I'm sorta between propaganda and RomanCollar. I support the right to bear arms, but I believe the arms should be limited. I believe guns like assault rifles and pistols, which have the singular purpose of killing another man, should be banned.

Shotguns and rifles are perfectly fine because they can be used recreationally in hunting, and therefore helps control our ecosystems after we fucked them up.

I'm hoping to buy a nice rifle after college once I'm out of the house and working a steady job.

Quote from: RomanClock;1442615In Washington a few years ago or something, the Rep candidate won the first election, the Dems wanted a recount so thats what happened. Rep wins again, so guess what? Another recount! And what happens? REP WINS AGAIN! SO GUESS WHAT? RECOUNTx3!!! And oops whats this? Suddenly 5000 votes show up and the Dems win by a margin of thousands. Yep...

Calm down Roman, George Bush was still elected and able to save the world. Thank god for that.

Roman Collar Clock

The reason I'm so judgmental of Obama is I don't support much of anything he believes.  Plus, giving a politician the benefit of the doubt is always a waste of time.  People should always be distrustful of the government, even if the government represented the people in its actions.  If McCain was elected I would feel mostly the same right now, so I'm not being discriminatory in this case!

Pixelated Knife Clock

I cant wait to see what happens, everythings a roll of the dice now
A switchblade (also known as an automatic knife, switch, or in British English flick knife) is a type of knife with a folding or sliding blade contained in the handle which is opened by a spring when a button or lever on the grip is pressed.

Quote from: RomanCollarClock;1442672Actually I enjoy shooting, and I like to keep it around in the unlikely, yet possible, event I would have to protect my home.
I know its fun to shoot I was once a conscript. But it must be scary to be in a country where you actually believe that you'd might have to shoot someone in your life, for me that is quite unthinkable.
Quote from: RomanCollarClock;1442672Seek help if the only thing stopping you from murdering is the lack of tools.
Yeah well I have but that is besides the point, sure I got anger management problems but alot of people do.
I have no facts to back me up here but I do believe theyve mentioned it on debates; Access to guns kills alot of children and people who fight within the family.
I do know that more than 6 children a year in the US die due accidents with guns in their homes.
Quote from: RomanCollarClock;1442672I've already given reasons explaining this difference in the debate forum, and it isn't the presence of guns in this country.  As you may have heard, The UK has a ban on handguns, and the amount of knife violence is pretty equal to the amount of gun violence here.
Are you counting knife AND gun violance in the USA against knife violance in the UK?
Quote from: RomanCollarClock;1442672And it isn't poor people either.
Come now, you know aswell as anyone that poverty is one of the main reasons for outbread crime and with that comes violance.

Quote from: RomanCollarClock;1442672Why should I?  It seems from your posting that you don't even trust yourself.
Hmmm, how so?
Do you mean lack of self controll or in arguments? I do admit at times I can be flawed in my discussions but I've been drunk alot lately, have petty.

However I fail to see how this is a valid argument to ignore what I said in whole.
Thing is, you can find endless arguments that go both ways, but show me any statistics that prove that civilian gun bearing has any positive side effects except singular feeling of security.
Quote from: RomanCollarClock;1442672I'm not going to give up on what means our citizens have to protect themselves and their families.
Ask yourself; Why do they even have to?
I'm not a nationalist and frankly I don't love my country all that much, I am proud of it sure but I can easily see it's faults and errors.
But atleast me or my family never lives in fear or dread over the day I might actually have to point a gun at another person.
Quote from: RomanCollarClock;1442672Also, the government has proven its unwillingness to protect its own taxpayers, so we have no reason to trust those people.
You elected them.
Quote from: RomanCollarClock;1442672We're on our own.
So... you didn't draw first blood? They did?

No but really, what you said there is hardly an argument: The feeling of abandoment from ones government is felt by alot of people but carrying guns hardly solves anything now does it?
You are a democracy, people are dying all over the world to have the rights you take for granted and yet you feel that your government has failed you and that guns somehow is the salvation?

I hope that is not how you really feel, but do tell me; Youre holding quite high standards of debating and thats grand fun :D

Where do you live?  I'm sure it's a lot better than here.  haha

Just to clarify, we don't live in constant fear over here, but the reality of things is that crime and violence are happening, and we have to protect each other from them.  We're not paranoid; we're simply prepared.  I've already stated my gripes about why we're going down the crapper, so I won't risk getting banned again!  My reaction to all of this is simply that we as a people must rely on our family, friends, and any other person who happens to belong to us.

I'd recommend reading a survivor's report from Hurrican Katrina.  Thank God some of those people had guns, otherwise they would have been dead meat.

Quote from: RomanCollarClock;1443217Where do you live?  I'm sure it's a lot better than here.  haha
We have 11 murders per 9 million people a year. It's quite nice, being a guy Im not afraid whereever I go :D
But as I said, its not perfect.
Quote from: RomanCollarClock;1443217Just to clarify, we don't live in constant fear over here, but the reality of things is that crime and violence are happening, and we have to protect each other from them.
Even though give you the feeling of controll, guns in homes kill more than they save.
Quote from: RomanCollarClock;1443217We're not paranoid; we're simply prepared.  I've already stated my gripes about why we're going down the crapper, so I won't risk getting banned again!
I missed that, had it something to do with why people are calling you a racist?
Quote from: RomanCollarClock;1443217My reaction to all of this is simply that we as a people must rely on our family, friends, and any other person who happens to belong to us.
For whom does the bell toll?
No man is an island unto himself, but a part of the continent that is humanity.
So ask not for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee.
Quote from: RomanCollarClock;1443217I'd recommend reading a survivor's report from Hurrican Katrina.  Thank God some of those people had guns, otherwise they would have been dead meat.
Tell that to the parents of the 6+ children dying each year.
Once again ;alot of statistics showing that guns in homes kill more people than it saves.

And as Mauser said... say, if someone broke into your house.
May be a 16 year old boy who is poor, may be a 50 year old burly man wanting to rape you what do I know, either way... would your first reacton be to draw a gun at him?
I'd feel more secure with like 4 tasers or suchs so I could just shoot first and ask question later.
Having to kill someone is not a grand thing.

Quote from: Mauser;1443218you don't need a gun for "protection". If you're that scared then get some mace or a taser or something

Crap, my gun is unloaded and locked up in a closet out of sight.  It's not like I sleep with it under my pillow.

If you're attacked by more than one person the taser is pretty much useless.  The power of mace is also iffy, just because somebody who's maced can still fight back against you.  Also, I'd rather have a gun if facing somebody who had a club, knife, or God forbid a gun.

Quote from: PropagandaClock;1443220Tell that to the parents of the 6+ children dying each year.
Once again ;alot of statistics showing that guns in homes kill more people than it saves.

The latest statistic I heard is that about 50 children are killed by guns due to negligence each year.  That's waaaay lower than the amount of gun use in self-defense.

Most of the children's deaths could have been prevented if the parents had kept their guns locked up and taught their children gun safety.  That's why I lock the safety on mine so that it can't be fired unless you have the key.
