Holy shit that metal gear solid rising trailer and gameplay demo made my jaw drop. I have never been into metal gear before but do I need to know to story to enjoy this game? I've waited years for a game to implement that kind of sword cutting engine nicely (afro samurai was alright but you couldn't kill the enemies in a single swing) and here's hoping to a star wars game that will use it

This game just might have the worst graphics on the Wii that I have ever seen. They barely look better than it N64 counterpart (alright, I'm exaggerating, I guess they're PS2 quality). This has to be a super-cheap cash-in. I bet that it's going to get horrible scores once its released.

I tried playing 1 a while back and I was amazed at how horrible the graphics were. Back in the day the game was one of the best looking games.

Yeah, I have a hard time playing it anymore as MGS2 & 3 play and feel so much better (well maybe not so much 3)

I bought Twin Snakes for my gamecube and usually play through that one if I want to go through the story of MGS1 again.

(the voice acting is alot better in the PS1 version though)

It's a spinoff, I don't remember why Raiden was off doing a thing with swords, but he was off doing a thing.

More info on the story (if it takes place when I expect it to):

- Raiden now has a super nanosuit body thing.
- All of Raiden's blood has been replaced by white synthetic blood I refuse to make a semen joke about oh god I just did
- Snake is old
- Otacon is still a virgin
- You'll probably figure out the story of this particular game as you play it, I'm not sure how much the stories of the other games are going to come into play but know them certainly wouldn't hurt
