Work has started on the Great Pyramid of Clocktopia.
So far the base has been completed.

I sketched out my design and floorplan on graph paper so I could make sure everything worked out correctly before I started building. It's made life so much easier.

How can you even get out of the glass surrounding the train track? If you can get out of the glass, why can't you build a platform from the opening to your house? Why don't you have flightmod installed?

The Pyramid is coming along well.

The only thing I'm wondering about is what to use for the outer shell. Historically, the Egyptians used pure white limestone (which eventually got stripped away revealing the sandy stone underneath we're more familiar with) but unfortunately Minecraft doesn't have any white stone. I've been examining some alternatives.

To me Iron looks best, and the closest to the original white. Gold just doesn't look good and sandstone looks boring.

If I were you I'd use sandstone. And if it doesn't look good at the end just ask an admin to change it to whatever material you want it to be

I've already given up on using sandstone since you can't see it against the desert.

E: I'd probably use gold if the individual blocks didn't looks so ugly.

Not really related to thread but holy jesus this is the biggest tree I've ever seen spawn.. (playing on skyblock 1.0, flying was only to take a pic I got all my other shit legit!)

I feel like Minecraft should have forests. And not the areas with a bunch of little trees everywhere, I mean dense areas with trees about 10x your height and 4x your width like in rull life.

Yeah, unless they made it a special type of wood that you need like, a diamond pickaxe to mine. And it would have to give you just regular wood when you mine it otherwise it'd be a commodity. And then it'd be a pain in the ass when you want to clear the area. Damnit I want my forests but there is no solution!

And what type of trees? I think there's one species (Dutch elm mebbe?) that's known for becoming hollow as it ages and is known for falling on people's houses a lot.

I had one of my trees almost fall on my house. We had to take out all our trees and replace them because of the danger.

The conifers typically fall on houses when pine beetles or drought kill them, when heavy rain, snow, and high wind happen, or some combination thereof. Oaks can rot too and get termites really bad.

Of course the biggest tree in my yard is only a little too large for two people to put their arms around, nothing like the redwoods to the northwest of us. I even have redwoods in my yard, but they're juveniles.
