I had no idea bioware had a livestream..

On a related note, I recently just beat ME2 for the 4th time. This time I played through both the first and the second back to back and I still think the original is better. ME2 definitely has more content and plays a lot more smoothly but I think ME1 still retains a stronger story. Even the sidequests in ME1 are more memorable as they aren't just lame shooting missions...

I dont know. Theres just something extremely rewarding about coming across a prothean ruin on a barren planet that i've been driving around on. They really need to bring back the open ended vehicle exploration that the first had. It just adds a sense of scale that ME2 is lacking.

it really wasn't that bad once you got used to it. Besides, they improved vehicle controls with the Firewalker DLC. They could bring it back easily.

PirateClock

no the mako missions sucked balls.

for the record, I wasn't talking about the story missions that required the Mako.

I'm talking about the sidequests and planet exploration. You know, those barren planets you get to land on and explore with the mako where you're not on a fixed path and there's no lava or ledge to fall off. Seriously, I thought it was fun and it added a sense of scale and made the universe feel big. I realize the mako controlled like shit and climbing mountains got kinda lame but discovering space cows, Pyjacks, Space beatles, prothean ruins, ship wreckage, turian insignias, matriach writings, pirate bases, and loot was fuckballs of fun.

It was also about 500x more memorable than a handful of sidequests in which you land at a random spot on a random planet and run down a linear path from point A to point B taking cover and shooting badguys all to flip a switch at the end and have a "MISSION COMPLETE" screen smacking my face with useless info that I already know. Did they seriously think I couldn't remember what kind of Loot (and by loot I mean elements for upgrades/Credits because that's all it ever was 90% of the time) I picked up?

miracle fruit

instead of fixing the mako controls and the lame mako missions they sort of just said fuck it and removed them altogether

they could have just made them fun

then again i was one of those people who actually wasnt a complete fucking retard and knew how to drive the mako just fine

:hi5:

the mako levels were pretty fun, aside from coming to a quick death for whatever reason and having to start the tasks on the planet from scratch all over again.

Slurpee

the problem with the planet exploration stuff was it wasn't clear what terrain the mako was capable of traversing in terms of altitude changes, and alternate routes were hard to pick out.
I explored literally every planet I could, so I often ended up hanging awkwardly off the side of cliffs while trying to get to THE TREASURE. that's where most of my memories of the first game are.
the levels almost seemed like they were procedurally generated based on what shit was the least fun or stopped you from exploring or joyriding the hardest. any kind of sandbox level design philosophy would have gone a long way.

it was certainly better than the planet scanning minigame, at any rate.

also I miss random encounters with thresher maws.

Thor

ME3 will probably bad since bioware wasted all their money on a crappy MMO.

To be fair, you don't have anything. Clocks are just machines that tick.

Bioware is dead. I doubt they'll ever produce a good game again.

i could see co-op unfolding nicely, not so much a deathmatch style multiplayer though.

The problem is that adding multiplayer, which is completely unnecessary, is taking man-hours and funds away from the single player. Games like this are created with a budget, and it's impossible for them to add multiplayer without taking away from single player. Especially when you consider how resource starved Bioware is after shitting all its money down the Old Republic toilet

i'd imagine that's how it's still going to be based around, except the ability for a second player to take control of a squadmate during gameplay sequences.

i guess still this is just a theory and i'll have to reserve judgement till they give more information on the subject, and given the leak of this it won't be long till they do so.

its possible that this is the reason why they added multiplayer. coop being easier to make than extra singleplayer content
